Hi

I know that some have had orange led problems with their beolab 3.

I just bought 4 secondhand beolab 3, put them in a box securely.

I plug them into my tv at home and then red led for one and when I power on the tv, I got an orange led.

If I unplug it and plug it again, then I have a red led again.

This beolab 3 worked like the 3 others.Nothing special happened.

According to you, is it a serious problem ? Maybe a fuse.

Thanks in advance for your help

Best regards

If you change positions (left for right, front for rear) does the behaviour change ?

Red = stand by

Green = audio active

Orange usually means overload on B&O speakers which does not make sense in your scenario unless one of the beolabs was distressed by the previous owner

Swapping cables and power points should help isolate it to the speaker or the cables / power link port

Not necessarily. One of mine went orange and I only used it a handful of times, and I don't even listen to music loud.

I took it in for service and it was fixed. Now it's fine.

I think this is kind of a common problem with BL3s. I don't know where you are located or if these are still under warranty, but if not and you live in the US I believe another member posted before that Atlantic Systems has an exchange program whereby you pull out the main board on the inside of the BL3 and send it in for another one for a fair cost. I believe the board new from B&O is close to 800.00. Maybe it's just a fuse in your case?

Hi ELephant

Thank you for your answer.

I swapped all cables and used this beolab 3 with a bv 7 and a bs5. I checked with 2 other beolab 3 that the settings are good previously.

NO CHANGE

Hi Michael,

I know what happened to your beolab 3.

A b&o tech told me that most of the time, this is due to power supply.The replacement costs around 380 euros.

What did they do on yours and what was the price ?

The previous owner are not the kind of man to hear music at high volume neither.

The 3 others beolab 3 work like a charm.

Thanks

Hi Playdrv4me,

I live in France.

I do believe it is a fuse problem only but a b&o tech told me that this is probably due to the power supply (worst case) and cost around 380 euros.

When I discussed with the b&o tech, I learned that I own mk1 and mk2 beolab 3. Some parts have been changed between. For what reasons, I don't know. He just told me that the power supply are not the same.Maybe that's why we have some issue with some beolab 3.

Hi Olvisab

The repair was free was because they were under warranty. I think I had them 6 months when the issue arose.
