200 grand and it'll still have the same crap go wrong with it. I'd believe maybe 20k, but that guy is dreaming.

Just to be cheeky, I asked him if the price was a typo Stick out tongue

And here was the reply...

Dear customer,

Thank you for your email.

The price is NOT a typo. We have already been offered the £150k but we are to let the auction run.

Thank you.

I like the £6000 postage cost! Do you get a Bevvy of beautiful maidens hand delivering it to you where ever you are in the world?

Auction finished with no bids surprisingly enough!

I know the white stuff is popular, but this advert is ridiculous.

What's hilarious to me about the "white" BS9k is that the part I would EXPECT to be white to create a real contrast with the normal model, i.e. the upper dark metal section, isn't even changed. The part that's white is the part that's normally bright brushed finish to begin with so upon first looking at one of the white ones the first time I couldn't even tell what the difference was.

There was or is another white one on there now (no doubt inspired by the ridiculous price of the other one) for a far more reasonable figure (of course it isn't number 001, but 20 years from now that's probably not going to mean squat... or maybe it will... I doubt it).

Sorry, but to me it looks like a part of a refrigerator.

I like that a lot! Even more if the plastic rear section was white too, perhaps. Of course with white plastic you have to worry about fading and yellowing from UV exposure so maybe this is just right.

I can see the temptation to paint creeping in. :-)

And is the rear/side section plastic?  I seem to recall it being metal.

Those are two metal plates which are affixed to a plastic section immediately behind them. I believe the control pad is also a hunk of metal, but that whole back part is plastic and then I *think* the next metal piece is the base-plate on the bottom.

And as much as I fussed with one of these tonight I don't think I'll be doing anything more to them for a while ! :)
