We're now the happy owners of a BeoVision 11 -partly thanks to useful information from people on this forum some weeks ago. Superb picture and sound, etc. I like the updated Beo4 operation.
Now the bad news - well, slightly disappointing, anyway..
The YouTube app is great - except that, whatever you play, the word 'Loading' keeps flashing in the middle of the screen. It never goes away - it's not like the buffering hourglass that normally goes after a few seconds.
This is unrelated to broadband speed - we have BT's fibre optic version and ethernet connections to homeplugs. Nothing else we use on our network indicates a slow internet connection.
My dealer checked out the three BV 11s in the showroom and they all have the same problem.
He reckoned that a software update at one point might have solved this, but that yet a further update had reinstated the fault. He's informed B & O.
Anyone else had this experience? Know how to solve it?
Andrew
We had a similar problem when we first took delivery of ours. By chance are you using wireless via BV11 or wired connections? Once we hard wired in it did remedy the situation for the most part. It still does happen every now and then. Usually when play videos for a while.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there
Yep same issue here for a BV 11 that I set up on a couple of days ago.
Software version 1.0.3.30552 Release Date:22-04-2013
Super TV although the implementation of the "Smart TV" functionality is poorly realized in my opinion. Then again I think it is generally poor on most TVs/Blu Ray players etc.
In addition, within an hour or so of finishing a set up I had an error along the lines of "Smart TV Signing in failed. Please turn your Television on and off" in a 'non B&O font' across the top of the screen. Unplugging the TV from the mains did nothing and the only way to reset it was to re-select my country of residence and go through the whole set-up routine including retuning again.
I've used B&O products for years and it's the first time I have raised a ticket with B&O customer support from their main website. I will be interested in what they have to say about this.
Thanks for all the responses. Comforting to know we're not alone in YouTube agony..
As I said, this happens with wired connections. There's nothing I can do now to make the broadband feed any faster.
I love the B&O brand - but I just wish they didn't shoot themselves in the foot with this kind of thing.
I know many of you have experienced similar frustrations with software glitches.
Incidentally, the iplayer app works wonderfully well - so it should, of course, but the control and picture quality are outstandingly good.
Same problem with the Loading issue. I have noticed that it also occurs when using the iPad YouTube app and streaming to my linked bv11-55. It's also been made worse by the fact that I too have also lost my Webapp access and despite following the instructions on the screen, reinstalling channels and resetting my location, it's still not working. Not so much a smart TV as a simply a $18,000 TV. Remarkable that the $119 Apple TV part works fine.
I really think they should concentrate on getting these things right before getting into headphones and I see even more iPhone apps - what on earth is this forthcoming Sensory Sound app about? Seems like a subtle marketing exercise if you ask me, which won't work when new customers buy B&O kit and then it doesn't work!
