Hi everyone, hope you can help a newbie with a small technical question. The door on my Century works most of the time, but every so often it doesn't open and just 'clicks' instead. I can see the mechanism has moved across, but the door hasn't, so looks like the connection between them isn't always engaging. If I leave it, it moves back and clicks back into the door, then works fine. Is there a simple fix to this problem? Thanks in advance for your help!
Take the speaker covers orf & you will see clearly what the problem is Teddy Tiger.
Looks to me like mechanical problem. Remove glass doors manualy and take a look. Just gently pull em off with some of strenght. I had similar issue but not same. Main were sensor problem.
Thanks Rex, could you tell me what I should be looking for?
The dark panel that has the display read out (above the CD/tape/radio/aux buttons) has the sensor there for the door. If you take the speaker covers off you will see two screws on each side. Take the panel off and clean the window and sensor. Their might be an accumulation of dust? It worked for me when I had a century a few years ago with the same problem. Good luck.
