Over the weekend I added a Raspberry Pi 2 Plex client in the dining room system. Streaming The Eagles The Long Run FLAC CD rip from my server to the dining room. Pi -> DIY selector switch -> BM4000 -> M70.

Saying goodbye to my BG 2404 with MMC4 from Axel, sold it do to lack of space, the young buyer got a lesson in how to treat it and his vinyls, upon that a long rant of the value of vintage B&O, the selling price was USD 300.00 and 3 liters of Bacardi Añejo. The Beatles Abbey Road was one of the goodbye LPs playing

Well, that's a shame. Seems a decent price, though.
The 2404 looks like a Franken-Table to me. It looks like one of my BG3404s with one of my RX2 tonearms installed.
Hey Guys,
This morning I went down to the newsagents for the Sunday paper, ended up getting Miles Davis 'Kind of Blue' on 180g vinyl for £4.99! A publication called 'Jazz at 33 1/3' is coming out with a series of great jazz standard LP's with a nice booklet and the first issue was this one for £4.99. I believe the remaining will be around £15, every 2 weeks. Not sure if this is a UK only release or wider but well worth a visit to your newsagent/store to pick one up at that price. Just finished playing it now, excellent quality and really nice to hear a recording from the late 50's as it was intended.

They may have a reissue program special for you Brits. I bought the "Kinda Blue" reissue for my nieces husband as a Christmas present . I have the "Lady In Satin" reissue by billie holiday. quite a few Jazz reissues are out or coming out. A lot of the old Blue Note Label Jazz as well as the Verve are being reissued. John coltranne Charlie Parker Dizzy Gilespie plus many others are all available again.
What I have on order from Light In the Attic Records is the 5 disk box set of Francoise Hardy. Her first five studio releases remastered using the original analogue recordings. 180g pressing
Speaking of the lovely Ms. Hardy Thought I owuld give her a listen. I played one side of Gin Tonic on the !001 and while not real powerful it sounds pleasant enough. Still has all the original caps inside so I dont really want to use it as an everyday/all day amp. So I have switched to my tried and true 4000 for the rest of the set.
and then later I decide to see how a 45 would sound - spot on.

I was just in the mood for Nana Mouskouri and this is the original “gift” record that started me on my Mouskouri obsession: “Recital 70” at the Olympia, in Paris.
The child in me just loved this remote controlled Beogram 4004….. Fellini said we should never lose our childish enthusiasm, we I haven’t lost mine and it is called a 4004.

Ah. David Gilmour. Rattle that lock.
Rattle that lock : I'm quite sure this song (based on french railway jingle) is not going to be a success in France !
I just got Kanna Hashimoto's first solo single for her movie "Sailor Suit and Machine Gun"! I fell in love with the 2nd song: arigato ~Arigato
I've been playing this a lot on all my systems!

What an odd stereo system you have here
Hi Richard,
While I admire your record collection, for sure, I am mightily impressed with your Beomaster and Beogram 1000. Both in beautiful condition.
Just came in the door, cleaned properly and onto the BG 4002 (speed readjusted minimum off) BL 5000 amp, M70s only bought it because of the Beoworld theme melody "With a Little Bit of Help from my Friends", a good remake
And because I just couldnt let it (I have the CD) and because it bring backs memories from a couple of hard partying years beginning of the 70th, and this is raw rock and roll, no big harmony orchestras just some guys playing and the good voice of John Fogerty, I was riding a Triumph Bonneville those years, the sissy bar came to good use.
Hey Søren,
I don’t care what you play, as long as you play it on your Beogram 4002. You did a good deal of work on that turntable and using it, is the BEST reward!
Welcome home.
Thanks Jeff, of course the 4002 is the favorite now, just put on Mireille next on Piaf if I can find her, I have to get a new mueble for my records, just no system in it, and stored in 3 different placed
Playing The Doors (1973 LP) on my Pro-Ject turntable ..... connected to the BS Moment + BL 18 + BL 19. Light my fire!!!!
BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1
Systems are always good.
I sort my records by category; but not alphabetically. Maybe a good idea, but I know where all the records are, so the “system” works.
It was never in question, but none the less, I am so glad you really enjoy your 4002. They are rather special.
I have no system either and like Soren my Lp's are split between 2 locations. I have looked at different storage setups. Kallax by IKEA being one. Luckily for me my niece bought one of those for her records and to have a place to display her Beosystem 1700. I saw it an wasnt very impressed. But it is cheap , in more ways than one.
Instead now I have my eyes on a modular setup from Crate and Barrel much more expensive but much more solid.
Giving the 901 a workout. Sympathy For The Devil.
I would be lost without a system. And I would continue to buy duplicates without carrying a spreadsheet in my phone.
Always fun to listen to Big Daddy
Spent the afternoon in the dining room working so had enough time to exercise all the sources on the BM4000/M70 system. Neil Young Harvest Moon on the CDX, Keith Richards' latest on the BG4002, Police's Regatta de Blanc on the BC4500 and Fleetwood Mac's GH on the BC1900.
I am always pleased at the quality of prerecorded cassettes on these decks. I never purchased that medium in its hey day.
Hi Rich,
Cassettes in general have been badly under-rated. Not remotely in the realm of LP’s but still very, very good.
I listen to mine on a daily basis.
Roling Stones in Mexico
Last time I saw Stones was in January 2005, all of them and me 10 years younger, 2005 I was dancing 2 hours standing on plastic chairs, the Dwarf (Chris my son) and I supporting each other, this time we were not allowed to stand on the chairs and the dwarf wasnt there, the 10 years has done it to me and Mick Jagger, I had to sit down once in while, and Mick didnt get up to the speed we saw 10 years ago, but the voices and the virtuous guitar playing is still there, in the background 75 year old Charlie Watts banging on his drums as always. The set up with the lights and big video screens even better now than 10 years ago, if possible. Thank you Rolling Stones, Lets keep on Rocking
Man, I am SO envious of your seeing yet another Stone’s concert. It is great that the band is still performing….. and so are you, just for being in the audience. “A Rolling Stone gathers no moss.”
Your commentary about the effect of 10 years reminded me of a Desi Arnaz quote after looking at an old wedding photo album and Lucy pointing out the corsage Desi gave her for their wedding.
Desi says, “I gave you a corsage of old tobacco leaves?” Lucy says, “Those are violets.” To which Lucy adds, “Well they look better back then.” Desi doesn’t miss a beat saying, “Well we all did.”
Anyway, even if they wouldn’t let you dance on plastic chairs you got to see the energy on stage and you only get that AT the concert.
Bravo!
Piaf:Anyway, even if they wouldn’t let you dance on plastic chairs you got to see the energy on stage and you only get that AT the concert.
Nothing goes up against a live concert, Stones makes 3 concerts here in the city, Monday, Wednesday and today Friday all sold out moths ago, each concert some 75000 people, that comes up to about 1/4 million I wonder if any other band of 70-75 years old men can manage that. Mick Jagger still dancing around the voice not failing, Ronnie Woods chain smoking and bringing the solos as do Keith Richard, Charlie Watts (75) still the quiet guy, just doing his job on the drums. This week is Stones only on the TT, and the DVDs with concerts will be dusted off.

Buena Vista Social Club was another act (aged between the high 70ies and the low 90ies). But this maybe a comparison between papayas and peppers ...
