I may purchase a BC 2300 for sale locally.  It seems to check out fine; however, upon standby both the red and green lights are lit.  When it's in use just the green light is lit.  Ordinarily, two lights on during standby would mean the timer function has been activated but there is no such feature on the 2300.  The set-up guide and user manual are of no assistance.  Alternatively, is there a way to do a factory reset, which might turn off the green light during standby?

As far as I know does that mean that the timer play function is active.

No faults.

As mentioned, no such thing on a BC 2300.

I am pretty sure that if you press MUTE (on the system panel, NOT on the remote) when the system is in standby the extra 'timer' light goes out.

Although your system probably doesn't have the timer the light being on means it would be initiated by another part of the system if connected as a slave in a link room.

Green light on = timer on. Described in the manual.

A long list...

it is an old BeoCenter 2300 perhabs? With the sensor on the left side on the black panel under the glas doors? If it is, it has 2 way communication and then you can use the timer function only by using Beolink 5000 or BeoLink 7000.
