Hello,
I bought a turntable off eBay (first mistake) and after plugging it in realized there was no sound going to the amp. Turntable works and plays fine. After placing the Beogram 2404 on my table I looked over the tonearm. It appears the copper wire has been detached from the arm and is just frayed. Can this be repaired or do I have a pretty paperweight?
Thanks
Yes it can be repaired. Assuming you mean the wire from the cartridge mount to underneath the tonearm base??? You will need to acquire suitable copper enameled wire to replace the original.
Olly
Yes. It appears to have been sheared off right at the tonearm. I bought it "as-is" off ebay for $44 bucks so no big issue, but other than that it works perfectly.
