Hi I am currently in the process of rewiring my new house. I see masterlink is eventually going to be replaced with net link. So rather than linking everything together with masterlink cable I was hoping to future proof myself by running 4 cat7 1cat5 and two coax to each TV point in each room. I will be using one cat7 and one coax per TV for the masterlink system. Leaving 3spare cat7 and 1 spare cat 5 I was hoping to use the cat 7 for if I want to link anything hd and the cat 5 for the it blasters. Everything will be routed back to one central point with some sort of patch panel.
My system.comprises
master bed: beovision 7-32 mk 3
master ensuite: some passive speakers not purchased yet any recommendations?
kids room: beovision 6-26
spare room: beovision 7-32 mk 3
Kitchen: beolab 3500
garage: beolab 2000
lounge: beosound 9000- beolab 8000
dining: beovision 7-32 mk 3
my question is do I need to be using cat7 or will cat 5 or cat 6 do? I have seen the rj45- masterlink cables but what about rj45- hdmi? And also I think I read that you can send 4 or blasters down one cat5? Is this correct if so how? And as my bv7-32 don't have hdmi connection only dvi slot can you get a rj45- dvi cable? Or can you put a dvi plug on the end of cat7? Also the bv7-32 mk3 recieves the sound through scart so can you use cat7 for that?
i hope that makes sense. Am i missing anything? Anybody with any suggesting please I would like to know.
thank you all in advance.
Hi thanks for the response. Would you recommend using more or less or is 4 ok? Thanks

4 to each point ?
i think 2 x cat 7 to each point for equipment and 1 cat 7 to speaker positions would cover a lot.
Hey valve. The reason I was thinking 4 cat 7 is because I need one for masterlink one for hdmi and one for scart. The cat 5 will be used as it blaster and 1 coax for masterlink. So that leaves me one cat 7 and one coax spare. I am still unsure how I use the cat 5 for the or blaster?
Does anybody know how many ir blasters I can send down one cat5 and how? Tganks
