WOW Expoman, it might be easier/shorter to list whats left.

Everything I own is gone from their product list. :-(

i think they are loosing the plot.

Or maybe they just realized that you are not going to buy the products that you already own.

We need new - and more efficient - products.

Maybe they are 'loosing the old plot' - but they are surely going to get a new.

It is very easy - the 'old' BV's disappear, and the 'old' speakers too (those with ALT-technology stays).

The Encore - well, will somebody miss it?

And after all how much 'audiosystem' do we need nowadays?

BL3500 is a ML-product - no need for that anymore - there will surely be other NL-based solutions with the new speakers to come.

Why so negative?

Greetings Millemissen

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I personally believe that there would still be a market for iconic products like Beolab 4000, 6000, 8000 (and a stand alone 3500 with Airplay). Especially for the 6000 and 8000 with wall brackets. There is simply no other products with the same style on the market.

For Beovision 4, Beovision 7, Beolab 7 and Beolab 10 I  think it would be the correct time to retire as they are not "flat" enough for most people's taste - although I think they are great. The Beosound 5 have always been overpriced, I have tried to convince myself buying one for Spotify but I simply cannot justify a purchase. I would not miss them if both versions are retired.

The Bang & Olufsen I grew up with have changed, some say it is for the better, me I do not know honestly. I guess the change is also partly because the way designers and architects "act / thinks". The B&O of the last 20-30 years is David Lewis' legacy and I believe new designers would like to create a legacy of their own rather than continue down the road. At least that is the impression I have get from all designers / architects etc. (non B&O) that I have met so I would not be surprised if that would be part of the explanation.

What I would like to see from B&O is a new, reasonably priced, music center with radio and CD like the Beosound 3000 / Beocenter 2 (maybe with a Blu-ray player that could co-exist with Beosystem 4).

That reminds me, I need to get another pair of Beolab 4000 - maybe Santa will be early this year and give me a black pair in September Smile

My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....

There be new speakers to replace

beolab 4000,beolab 8002 and beolab 2 for ex

so it's nothing to be worry about,

Think on this forum we often see complains on how slow b&o are to relase new Product

but i Think b&o are making/constructing some exiting products as we speak...

And for people not to quote the ENTIRE list in their reply. Good grief.

I thought we all knew the BV7 has gone, the BS4 has gone, the BS9000 and the BL4s? I can't imagine B&O scrapping the BL3s, BL9s or BL5s. BL12s are too new. TVs as they stand will remain.

BL11 is quite recent as well.

Everyone is misreading my list.  I am asking only if others can confirm or deny that any of these products will be part of the products to be dropped.  I am not suggesting all of these products are now deleted.

I have read from other posts some of these will be replaced with new versions like

Beovision 7

Beolab 8000 alt version?

Some others with the new Beosystem 4 are out of date and others are just guesses like we all do now and then.

Lets play the game we always.  Predict before B&O announces it.  Let the games begin. Big Smile

Not that hard to understand why people misinterpret your first post - or actually they are interpreting it exactly as it is stated - read it yourself:

expoman:

Question: Which products do you think this will include?

Answer: Here is my list.

Then you just provide a list with almost all B&O products rather than actually listing the products you believe should be discontinued

My proposal is that you revise your first post to make it understandable for more people. Wink

My B&O products: Beosound 9000, Beosound 2300, Beosound Century, Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000, Beolab 4000 x2, Beolab 3500, Beolab 2000, Beolab 10, Beolink Active x2, Beotime, Beo5 x2, Beo4, A9 keyring x2, LC2 dimmer x6 and growing....

If this info is correct, B&O have lost the plot then.

I was in the showroom the other day and the 8000's are still a stunning looking speaker, why not upgrade them internally, drivers, acoustic lenses etc with a totally different design?  It would be very hard to design another speaker that trumps them in elegance.

Some of their newest speakers are just dull and not timeless like many earlier designs.  Not even having a head unit without a CD player is just ridiculous.  Every other high end manufacturer does.  Why would they drop the smaller BL11?  It's the only musical sub they have, and most B&O speakers need a sub for complete sound reproduction (bar 5' / 9's).

They should have upgraded the 3200 and 9000 with digital radio, facelift etc.  There is nothing in the showroom that stands out except beolab 9's for me in the audio category.  Most of it is missing the magic and beauty of earlier products.  The century is a much nicer elegant design than the beosound 8.

The 5's (do not care how good they sound) are just plain fugly, compared to the organic shape of the 9's.  As for the beolab 14???????  Can't say they will be a classic speaker, they look no different from any generic cheapie speaker set from a HI FI shop.

There is nothing that really stands out that makes you think, wow, I would love one of those (when the beocenter 9000 was released for example).  B&O are losing their beautiful design edge and replacing them with designs that are bland.

Hope some of the newer stuff to be released is an improvement.

Sad.  Storm

My opinion anyway.

Guys!!! Reading comprehension. This is not an official list, nor would B&O downsize their portfolio so drastically. Please read again and understand that OP asked you for your own list and opinion.

Erm, that's exactly what's happening?! Read the new products within next 6 - 12 months thread!

This thread should be locked. Badly written, confusing and people are mis-reading the original post (ridiculously long list).

Just to try and clarify the situation a little bit, as I understand it the following products will STAY in the portfolio and I don't believe there are any plans to stop producing them in the current plan...

Speakers

BL11 Subwoofer, it's great - nothing wrong with it at all!

BL5's

BL3's - the current best seller I believe and certainly one of my favourite ever speakers

BL9's

BL12 family (in fact new colours added since BV12 NG launch)

TVs

BV11 - the current bestseller loaded with the newest platform and going nowhere

BV12 - just relaunched with new options

V1

Audio

BS5 - recently updated with Spotify which I think is great!

Phones

BCom 2, 6000 & 5 staying as far as I am aware

B&O Play

All products staying as far as I am aware. BeoPlay A8 recently updated with new network hardware that adds DLNA support

Also all headphones I would imagine will stay

Others

MLGW is fine, recent software added NL compatibility and it always had an RJ45 connector

Playmaker will stay in the range. Purely my opinion, but I think this may become more of a key product in the future.

Don't take this as an indication that anything missing from my list will go - and I have no doubt left some things off - but as far as I am aware as a UK dealer, the above items will be staying with us - I hope that adds some clarity to this post. (Not that thought the original post was confusing - but we do seem to have gone off on a tangent?)
