Hello all,

First time post from a regular viewer of this site.  I have a late model Beogram 6000 s/n306705 with MMC 6000 cartridge that I have owned for 6 months.  On receipt I changed the main drive and servo motor belts, cleaned and lubricated the important moving parts and changed several burned out lamps.  All worked well until a few days ago when I noticed that the audio was cutting in and out at the start of a record this was accompanied by a solenoid click.  The clicking was traced to a 500 ohm relay on board number 8005022.  The problem cleared before the end of each track  however today I have no audio and no solenoid click although all the transport functions and motor speed works fine.  The relay coil appears to be fine also.  I have the circuit diagrams for the type 5505 but there is no mention of the 8005022 circuit which incidentally is connected to the amplifier board by 7 wires, four green, one each read, white and black.  Can anyone shed some light on this? thank you in advance.

Robert

Its mounted in the top right  corner of the chasis looking from above. Fixed to the top right suspension mounting with 2 machine bolts.

I once had a BG6000 with this board fitted. I believe it is the mute relay!

It was never a problem for me but I always wondered if and why the factory modified them in this way.

I suggest that you contact member Step1 (Olly King) as he did some jobs on mine for me.

Regards Graham

Thanks for the responses. Problem solved, I took the opportunity to replace the bridge rectifier, smoothing capacitors and the electrolyics on the main power board.  I also changed out the 1W resistors , the metal can BC 142/3transistors and some of the TIP ones. The problem cleared after changing the brigde rectifier and the power capacitors so I assume the power rail was down just below the hold on threshold for the muting relay.
