I was wondering if anybody can help me. I have a Beovision 7 I am getting very annoyed by screen flicker. It affects the top 20% of the screen and occurs when the scene on the screen changes from a dark scene to a light scene. I have also recently noticed a dark distortion line running diagonally from top left to bottom right.
The “fault” seems intermittent. It occurs when watching Dvd’s and TV. The strange thing is that I can be watching a program and the flicker is there when the commercial break is on the flicker disappears, then when the programme restarts so does the flicker. It seems to be worse on certain programmes i.e. QI, but almost never happens on a news programme or commercials
I have contacted my dealer who can only suggest the changing of a very expensive internal component.
If the picture itself doesn't change and only flickers, then one of the board on the back on the BV7 is probably faulty.
On the back of the middle top of the screen is the T-Con board located. This one "makes" the picture.
On both left and right sides on the back off the panel, are the inverter boards. These supply the "light"in the panel. These boards are mostly faulty and can cause flickering or a completely dark panel.
But because of your 20% area it still could be the T-Con board or the picture processor on the chassis itself.
B&O only supply complete (expensive) panels, which contains both T-Con and inverters. But still you need to figure out if the problem is caused by the chassis itself. So, further measuring needs to be done...
Thank you for your reply. It seems to have been cured.
Two things happened,
1) the dealer called to install a new software update, we had somehow been forgotten.
2) When the dealer set the system up some 5 years ago we had a B and O video player attached to the system. I simply switched that off.
For some reason one or both of those things seems to have cured it.
