Hello,

This morning, I saw my tech and had a good and a bad news !

I start with this thread with the good news, he fully restored my beovox S45, I would like to know your opinion on what he did. In my view, their sound is absolutely stunning !!!

He changes all caps with MKP/MKT/ Styro (chineese for me), cables, soldier joint,... and add (or change) two caps with oiled paper caps (I don't know what it is but say it really improve the sound)...

The result is : perfect bass control, incredible voices on medium but the best improvement in my view is the treble (that was a little bit too high, metallic), now, trebles are perfect !!!!

I'm really happy with these speakers ;) (but you will see in another message that it is not the same with my beomaster 8000, the BAD news)!!

Jacques, your S45 stands, do they have the original color or has it been made white (looks stunning)!

Sorry, this is a picture effect... This is original color.... Grey.

Indeed, white would have been stunning !

Sh!t, I thought it has been made white because of the speakers. Still, great job!

S45 (6302) but white (don't know it exist) and S45-2 stands (I think they do special holes on the plastic part).

I bought them like that and my tech optimized them (the crossover). Speakers are perfect.

I love them (sound and design), the white seems to be the original color... (but this color is not referenced on beoworld)

I have white S45's too. The rear label and moulded resin backs confirms they are original S45's and not later S45.2 which had plain ply or MDF backs.

Superb speakers often overlooked because it is easier to refer to S45.2's when making a comparison with the later S45 twin fret speakers which suffered from foam rot.

I have just taken a look at the rear of my S45's and what's interesting is that the moulded resin back is different! My S45's have a single hole near the top centre for inclined wall mounting, and a single central hole 2/3 the way down for vertical wall mounting.

Will do. I will first need to disentangle some speaker cable to allow a speaker to be removed from a shelf, so it might not be today!

OK. Managed photographs without taking the speaker down.

Note on the rear there are two extra self adhesive transparent plastic 'dots' from when the speakers were last wall mounted.

Note the rear edge of the speaker cabinet has no metal trim, whereas the S45.2 has a flat back but a metal trim to both the front and rear edges.

maybe a picture of the speakers could help someone to recognize them...

Or maybe there where a version to be wall mounted or something like this !!!

What intrigues me is that B&O apparently went to the trouble of making two types of resin back for the same model speaker. One with double suspension points for wall mounting at an angle or vertically, and the other with central points making the speaker rely on a single support but being easier to adjust for verticality.

When you think about the likely costs involved in tooling up to make one version of the back, why on earth would you produce a second version?
