Careful reading of the description also implies that only (1) speaker is for sale, not a pair.

I asked the seller what type of speaker it was, or what was it serial number. This is the response....

"Beovox s45 speakers and sub where used to make this speaker it's a bespoke one of a kind speaker. It's made from wood very heavy. With a high gloss lacquered finish"

So I guess he either made it himself or somebody else did it for him. Quite a project, but I guess if you already a collection of parts and are adept at fabricating speakers, then a great amateur effort.

It is rather bold to call that a 'Bang & Olufsen speaker'!

Very bold, and inaccurate. The drivers are a mix of Philips,Peerless and SEAS if they come from an S45 and no doubt the cross over is different. The B&O bit was the cabinet which he has binned!

I'd say it was corrupt and illegal. In any case, if the cones are Peerless or one of the other speaker cone suppliers used by B&O, is any part of this glossy monster possibly  attributable to B&O?

EDIT

Peter, I was typing without seeing your post. Same thoughts at same moment!

I wouldn't bet that they are different, this guy probably just stuffed everything from a pair of S45s into a box together, which given the cabinet differences means a grossly misaligned crossover since cabinet dimensions are so different. Since he put both into one system he is obviously trying to make a single point stereo setup, like the old Revox thing. God awful sounding I bet.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus. Sad
