Hi,

i'm having problems to get a HDR 2 working properly with a Beovision 8-32.

The HDR 2 is connected with a fully connected SCART cable to AV1 of the BV  8-32 and is registered in the connections menu (V-MEM, no IR, no HDMI). Pressing V-MEM on the BEO4 starts the recorder and i can view recordings being already on the harddisk. I can select the items in the menu of the HDR, even setting a timer is  possible in the menu but after switching all in standby the HDR starts and records nothing. Further checking showed that the program settings for the TV stations are wrong. There was no tuner dumping from the BV 8-32!. There are still the tuner settings stored from the Beovison 3-32 it was connected before. Checking all tuned programs finally showed a few stations with a visible picture. So tried a recording with one of those stations which worked. Unsure

Now i reset the HDR-2 to defaults via the service menu which gave also an empty station list in the HDR-2 and no timed recording was possible. Also no manual recording from DVD connected to the BV 8 was possible !? Fine tuning in the setup menu was not possible because no station was dumped before.

Next step was resetup of the components: Reset HDR 2 again, switched all off. disconnected HDR-2 from mains and BV 8. assigned AV1 to <none>. Now disconnected the BV 8-32 from mains for a few minutes, reconnected it and set AV1 again to V-MEM. Switched the TV off and disconnected from mains.

Now HDR connected via SCART to AV1, connecting the recorder to the mains and waited one or two minutes before connecting the BV 8-32 to the mains and guess what: Again no tuner dumping, no timer record was possible like before. The HDR was controllable by the BEO 4 so the SCART cable is ok.

Angry

Took the HDR-2 back to the BV-3-32 where it was before and got it's tuner dumped almost immediately! Could program a timer which worked flawlessly. Also a manual recording from DVD connected to BV 3-32 worked fine.

Does anyone have a hint what is going wrong here? Doesn't the HDR 2 work with the BV 8-32? Unsure

Thanks in advance for any hints or tips to get the HDR 2 running together with the BV 8-32Smile

Does the BV-8 rely on the analogue tuner, a built in digital tuner or a set top-box? And the same for the BV-3? That may play a part in what is your issue!

Hi Stoobie,

the BV 8-32  relies on the built in analog tuner, and doesn't have a built in digital tuner. The same applies to the Beovision 3-32.

At the BV-8 there's also a STB connected which is controlled via one PUC and mapped to DTV. A timer programmed in the HDR 2 to record  from DTV is also unsuccesful. No recording on the hard disk and no 'Record' sign at the front of the HDR. The timer entry is still in the timer index to be found but is in the past. The clock and date setting in the HDR 2 are correct and verified :) They work when the HDR-2 is connected to the BV 3-32.

You need the (optional) system module. It will add a ML-connector and an extra scart that will work with your HDR2.

Hi DoubleU,

thank you for the information.

The service manual describes the connectors AV1 and AV2 as 2way AVL, that made me think it should work without any hassle but ... Surprise

So now comes the question does anyone have a simple system modul for the BV 8-32 ? and how much is it? Just wanted to connect a B&O video recorder to a B&O TV Angry
