Beosound 9000 Problem

Hi

I have had a Beosound 9000 in storage for 4 years and have just taken out and set up to try out. I have set the turn screws the correct direction under the unit for mounting flat.

On power up, the cd mechanism just sits on cd 6 and shudders. The glass door wont open and after a while the unit then just goes into standby. After trying again powering down overnight, cleaning off  safety eyes and aluminium and glass, still the same problem.

Can anyone help me out who has seen this or similar, I have a feeling the unit is going to need some spare parts?

If you have a bench, spot or table light shining on the 9000, try it with the light turned off!

Hi Graham

Ive turned off all lights, tried again same problem...carriage hasn't moved from disc 6...sits rattling for about half a min then goes into standby..sometimes though will open glass but ive been pushing open button also.

No cds are loaded or anything yet connected to the 9000

Any thoughts?

Hi Canice, how old is the 9000 ?

I suspect it will need a service,these iconic units are worth it.

Billy in B&O Donnybrook will point you in the right direction.

Lets know how it goes.
