B&O are no longer the product?

I visited the local dealer yesterday and spent most of the time realising that their products depend on Apple and Cisco more than ever . Their tangible contribution is less easy to understand now that the media is in the ether and that a £1700 audio system is dependent on an iPod and a router. There's less need for the beo4 which branded the experience . How can the products regain ownership of the media?

I have a Beolit and a Beoplay A8, both use an Iphone/IPad as a source and both can and are controlled by a Beo 4.

But as somebody pointed out on  b&o Facebook recently, lets hope the new wireless signal is more robust than you sometimes get with today's Beolit and A8!

my point is that B&O is in danger of losing out the same way Alessi and Bialetti have with the introduction of pods from Nestlé etc 

personally I prefer to be able to chose ground coffee .

Do spend some time reading about how the IWS works, and you will see that it has "nothing" to do with the way BeoLit/A8-WiFi works.

And feel free to 'ground'  CD's/Vinyl etc on a ML-based setup.

It still works well - as it has done for many years now

Nobody forces you to use Apple or Cisco products to enjoy music.

I agree the Beolit wireless experience has not been a good one. Just looking at the endless problems people have had with it on the Apple review site bears witness to that. Saying that mine had been fairly good recently.

Although no expert, from what I have heard about this WISA technology would fill me with confidence that is very robust. Ask your dealer.

I still think of Alessi when I want affordable designer kitchenware. 

B&O should really focus on what it was doing well - designer lifestyle home electronics that gives the customers a unique experience where all the technology is discreetly woven in and not in your face.

Regarding WISA, I hope future transmitters will have Airplay and Bluetooth built-in. 

And I think signal break offs are inherent in current Airplay products. I have yet to have used an Airplay product that never had an issue but the rate at which interruptions occur are still acceptable nonetheless. It still saves me the trips of walking towards the TV or stereo.
