Hi all - I'm brand new to the forum. Smile

I've been drooling over B & O products for many years, and finally took the plunge with a new BeoVision 11 (46") TV & "free" BeoLab 14 speakers through a promotion.

So how ecstatic am I going to be with this glorious new gear?

Thanks.

Congrats - I can't imagine that you will be disappointed.

A good BluRay movie/concert and you will be 'enraptured'

Greetings Millemissen

The BV11 is a great TV - you'll be delighted. I assure you.

The sub and two small speakers will sound good too.  Very "rumbly" on the bass and pretty sharp on the mid to high end. It's not "high end" audio - but it's certainly good enough for all but the more 'demanding' AV buyer and you won't be disappointed.

Enjoy - and welcome to BeoWorld !!!

Thanks everyone! I think the install's happening early December. I have to pull the trigger (probably tomorrow).

Rumbly bass. Hmmm. Not so sure I like that.  BUT - It's got to be better than my Sony TV. :-D

I'll report when it all arrives!

Hi all -

I am happy to report my new system is installed and functioning. I can't believe how clear the picture is, and the sound is outstanding. I'm really happy with it.

In addition, when they installed it, they did meticulous cord management. All I can see now is the wires to the sub woofer! What a difference from what was there before.

I have a few little glitches with my remote; things haven't been programmed correctly yet. VERY minor complaint. The store has said they will help me get it resolved.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

Congratulations. What a great gift. Very glad that no one dropped anything - not Santa, not the reindeer, not the BeoElf/Elves :-)

Now pictures please :-)

Attached is the Before BeoVision 11-46. Quite a mess and it was even cleaned up some! I wanted to show the cord nightmare, and I think it does that well.

About the setup - the furniture shown here is American Black Walnut and Birch. There is a computer key board in the left drawer, an XBox 360 in the center drawer, and the cable box & Apple TV in the right hand drawer. The drawer fronts tip down to expose the equipment. The wall mount pulls out from the left to direct squarely at the seating area in the room.

I LOVE this! So happy I got it,

Just a suggestion, why not try to get the sound from the computer also through the BL14?

Thanks, Rivenflush - that's a great idea! I'll talk to my local dealer and see if we can do it. I love my HK Soundsticks, though. They were *really cool* when I first got them. Maybe someone else will love them as much as I have.

and that's the most important thing, that you, not anyone else is happy with it.

I also had the HK Soundsticks and although they are great, like me, someone else will appreciate them more when you sell them ;-)

Same question occurred to me.

You could look at a direct connection of the desktop and the audio into the BV, or you could look at using a BeoPort.

Whilst I have a BeoPort I think it is now a relic of the past ... and therefore suggest that the direct connection is now a better solution.

But see what your dealer thinks.

Hello there, I am curious, here in the States, the promotion B&O has been touting the "bring in your old TV, and get up to $1500 off" the purchase of a new BV-11, but this is the first time I've heard of a "free" BL14 system.

Was this specific to a dealer?

Cheers, and enjoy your incredible setup!

Hi Sal -

The promotion was the one before the $1500 savings on the BV11. You buy the TV and you get the sub & two of the speakers "free." I don't need other satellite speakers in my entertainment room, so this promo was great for me.

I have found that I spend now WAY TOO MUCH time enjoying this TV. Big Smile

Can you elaborate on the sound of the TV paired with the BL14s? For a complete home Theater system, I think the 14's are a great value (relatively speaking) from B&O. Unfortunately, they don't have wireless built in like some of the other models, nor do they have ALT.

I am coming from having owned a pair of Beolab 3's along with a BL2 with the original Avant, which sounded wonderful! I'm curious whether the 14's can stack up.

Obviously, in a month or so, I'll be going to the B&O store and spending a lot of time there auditioning, but I wanted to get your thoughts on your setup.

They can definitely not compete with the BL3/BL2 combo!

Yeah, I thought that would be the case. I guess the plan will be to decide on the television first, then scour eBay for good deals on a sub / speaker with more punch than the TV could provide. Who knows, maybe the dealer I end up working with will sympathize and make me an offer I can't refuse... I'm not holding my breath.

Hi Sal - I'm not the one to judge the sound. Millemissen seems to know a lot more. What I have is "good enough" for me.

I have observed that I need to turn the BV11 volume up higher than I had expected. I don't know if this is related to the equipment or the sound that is sent with the shows I watch. Or my deaf ears. :-)
