How can I tell when a beosound  3200 was manufactured ?

from the serial number the type or the item number?

A type number or serial number will give you an idea as to the rough date range yours came from in years, for a more accurate date you need to get a dealer to look up the warranty registration details for the serial number.

Yours arrived at the dealer who sold it in Feb 2006, and on the same warranty registration was 4 pairs of BeoLab 3's, a BeoLab 2, BeoVision 6-26, an active, passive, some Beo4's some cables 😉

I bet that sounded great!

The warranty expired (as far as B&O are concerned) in April 2010.
