We had met before but I finally got around to calling around to Fergus (Beoworld member here in Dublin).
Last time he was here I had just got my valve amp 608 which was (and still is) untested. Long story short as I am in the middle of selling the house , everything is either boxed or in storage. Could I find a plug......
Moving on , I wanted to compare my 1960's Bl/BM 5000's to his and he had all his nicely set up with a stereo bandwidth adjuster and 3 speakers. The mid speaker was of an unknown to me make and the two main speakers are BV 1600 which I think give a great sound. Using the 5000's rabbits ears he was getting a great FM reception.
I tried my Classic Audio BM 5000 with his set up and yes there was a crisper cleaner sound which needed less volume. It was great listening to the detail and depth from different FM stations. I feel there is a lot better signal to be got using an outside antenna.
