B&O and WiSA

I was told that B&O has a six month exclusive on the WiSA technology.  Anyone else heard this?  Do not recall reading this is any of the new speaker threads.  No sure what other manufactures will come with this WiSA tech after that time.  

There was a really good episode of Home Theater Geeks on Leo Laporte's TWiT network back in March that went into great detail about the WiSA technology with two representatives from the WiSA group. I do not recall them saying any of their launch partners had exclusives on the technology, but I don't really want to watch it all over again to be sure. An exclusive for 6 months but with only 2 TVs in the range with the capability and no broadcasters in sight yet? Bad move... 

I hope WiSA is going to upgrade to full 24bit/196khz because to my surprise a few days ago,  a certain manufacturer (O'heocha) had managed to do that albeit with a very low signal to noise ratio like 3 yrs ago. I sometimes wonder how that company survives with so little publicity. 

I don't think it's an exclusive, more of they were the first to submit and go for approval from the organization. B&O

were way ahead of the others on this one technology. - WISA does support the higher bit rates, just not the current equipment out in the wild.

The limitation to 24/96 is a decision that B&O made for their equipment - to make the signal most stable/reliable (especially in a 7.1 setup).

You might question this decision, but which (how many) B&O costumer use 24/196-quality files as source??

I think it is a resonable decision, and a software-upgrade to 24/196 support - if later nescesary/needed - is possible?
