The result of searching on alltransistor.com is a bit confusing for me.

While searching for AC126 as an example, the text result is
"See also transistor tor datasheet" followed by a list of transitors , is this to e interpreted as quivilant transistors?

Or does anyone know of a better seach enigine on the webb ?

IF I do search AC126, it gives me " AC126 Transistor Datasheet. Parameters and Characteristics." page, and on it is, " AC126 Equivalent Transistors " link, leading to page where can search equalent by parameters... Did not find any with presets from AC126 datasheet. But now you can drop minor parameters away and try again...

 blah-blah and photographs as needed

Just omitting the last parameter (case = TO1) gives a number of results, but as this basically is an obsolete germanium transistor, many of them may be equally hard to find.

I can check the good ol' cross reference book (the one with physical paper pages...) tomorrow at work in case there's something useful in there.

Thanks Mika that would be lovevly Smile

my need at the moment is AC126 which sitt as main amplifier in the BM900 preamp, and the AC158, or AC128 a small effekt transitor which servs as feeder to the stereo indicator lamp from the stereo decoder.

I guess that the  feeder to the stereo indicatior feeder transitor parameters isnt so crucial

The yellow ECA book gives the following equivalencies:

  • AC126 = AC 151, ACY 24, ASY 48 (only the first one might actually be helpful...)
  • AC158 = not listed?
  • AC128 = AC 153, AC 188

Dillen might know which current replacements actually work in these particular applications. I agree the stereo lamp driver shouldn't be too critical.

I use AC151.
It's an excellent transistor, still available (I've bought on Ebay) and not too costly.

Oh, many wonderful answers, thanks

I need 8 AC151. to begin with.

www.elfa.se in Sweden do have 151, they cost about 3 euros a piece including VAT

Elfa is has always had a reputation of good storage but with high prices

Anyone with other good links of component stores .

Bo, thanks so much for the offer. I could buy from you Smile , but I would rather save your private offered help when I am in  more tricky desperate situation Smile

Hi Christian,

you can try pollin.de as mentioned in the 300 Ohm antenna plug thread or  you can try  www.reichelt.de They send to foreign countries with a minimum order sum of 10,00 € and are very reliable. They exist since decades and now belong to farnell.

Well I only have a couple of them so if you can source from elsewhere it's fine.

actually going to to try out cheaper transitors, that are made in bigger bulks.
Will give you feedback

Hi,

try the following link in eBay. The seller is not me or any relative. You can also try to look for 'Germanium Transistor' in eBay you will find lots of them.

For the AC128, I used NTE158.

Yes NTE 158 works, have used this on a couple of places.
It takes quite a bit current as pros, , but is very expensive.

Will soons try cheaper transistors on low.effect places, its on the list, and I will give you feedback as promised
