I have cured the tracking problem with my turntable, but now find I only have onc speaker channel working. I switched the plugs around and the problem went to the other speaker, so I'm pretty well satisfied that one channel of the turntable works, and the other is just putting out a low frequency hum.

I just put a new to me needle on it that seems to be working well. Don't know whether needle has anything to do with stereo sound or not.

I have the service manual and am fairly well astute at following directions. Any help on a troubleshooting plan would be very helpful.

I have found my answer. Yes, the needle has everything to do with stereo sound. I took the needle off, cleaned the connections and put it back on (after also cleaning the mating connections on the tone arm) and both channels work now.
