Hi,

I have a pair of BeoLab 1 speakers in storage and I heard that if there was not a consistent electrical current to the speakers that parts of the speaker may need replacing.  They have been in storage for two years.

What might need replacing and do you happen to have an idea of the cost?

I purchased them for my apartment in the states, but I am now spending a lot of time in Amsterdam.  I would like to switch out the power supply so that they would work in Europe.  Any idea as to what the cost and/or issues might be with this?

Last, does anyone have recommendations on the best way to ship them from NYC to Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Thanks so much for your help!

Linda

It is not a huge cost, I think when I checked 10 years ago it was about $200 each so perhaps assume $400 today. The best thing to do is just call the dealer in Amsterdam and get a price quote. You may also just want to buy a transformer (voltage and frequency), which would be much cheaper and works perfectly well. Just make sure it is high power transformer to ensure it meets the speaker specs.
