Hey there again!
More questions about the fixing and trouble shooting for these two!
I have two Beocord 5000 units, both with the same issue... They turn on, and display lights up, but when I click 'open' all I get is a whirring mechanical noise... I'm guessing the motor? I've checked the obvious screws being set to 'transport' on the underside and this is not the case. If I pull at the draw, they will slide open freely so it isn't a case of them being stuck on something either...
I've read about the belts needing to be replaced, but nothing about the whirring noise so wondered if anyone had experience of that, or if indeed that is a symptom of that?
Ok also, the CD50 will load a cd, but then just clicks a few times and spits it out?
Any help with that also would be great! I'm going to be doing a mass de-construct and work on these and the other units you've helped me with soon, so want to gather as much info as poss, to try and streamline the opperation!!
Thanks in advance!
Steve
Beocord, whirring noise is the motor for opening the drawer, no or slack belt.
The CD has to be loaded up side down in the CD50
Collecting Vintage B&O is not a hobby, its a lifestyle.
I litterally just worked that out with the CD...!!!
Silly me... Makes sense when you think about it though....
RE the cord... So you think the motor has died right?
Cheers
The motor is probably OK the belt is broken or in bad condition, check here amd here
Thats great thanks!
Fantastic!
Where is best to look for rplacement belts?
Cheers again my man!!
Martin, Dillen on this forum can provide belts for both, comes with instructions
Fantastic thanks
The Beocord tray motors really make a terrible noise when they are running with no load (belt gone). If you hear it, the new belt should be enough (and cleaning and lubrication of the tracks).
