Hi I want to be able to connect these together, now I know this is not possible via the beosound 5 encore as its a stand alone system. However ive stumbled across this almano power link-switch stero. My question is this however as the beogram 4500 has a built in RIAA will this set up work and how would I control the volume! Does anyone have any experience with this company. I've sent serval emails but as its a German company they do not understand my questions.

Best thing to do is to buy a Beomaster 4500 to connect the BeoGram.

Then connect the BM and the Encore to the switch

If you put the BM in Option 4, you could even remote-control it (and the BeoGram) using the 'Link' command before you push 'Phono'.

Hopefully I'm not missing something obvious, but since the Beogram 4500 has a RIAA preamp it's output is at line level and the encore has a line-in, so surely all that is required is a suitable cable to connect the two together?

Martin.

Hi Martin,

no - you are not 'missing' anything.

That would be a very slim setup.

Why didn't I think of that Unsure

I use the almando switch for connecting my encore and my loewe tv to beolab 18

If you can connect the Beogram to the line in in the encore (3.5mm jack) there is no need to buy the almando.

however keep in mind that the line in on the encore is situated kind in the front of the encore in stead of behind it. So your cable will be visable.

regards, Edwin
