Hi all,

Would anybody know where to get a drive belt for the door mechanism on an early beocenter 2300? B&O are telling me the part is no longer available?

Thanks, Andrew.

Thanks Graham but I don't have that belt.
I believe it's still available from B&O.

Correct, it will most likely be the same as Beosound 3000/3200 which must still be within the service period.

Edit

Just checked the service manuals and it is indeed the same belt as 3000/3200

The part number is 2732076 and it must still be available from B&O

Hang on a minute...........having reread the OP I have given you the wrong Pt No. I thought he wanted the clamper drive belt.

I think he wants the belt that drives the glass doors which is 2732076. It should still be available from B&O as it is common to the 3000/3200

Hi,

Thank's folks. I think B&O are not all that keen on bothering with the older unit. After seeing the internals of the unit, It surprised me that the part was unavailable, being as it's just a rubber belt.

Are there any reputable parts suppliers other than B&O?

Thanks, Andrew.

Dillen may have 2732092

There are no other suppliers that I know of.

I'm waiting on AVA to call back, but this is the response B&O gave me... “The belts and all parts for this are obsolete. I have tried off the shelf belt kits and they don't fit. They cause speed variation issues. Unfortunately they are not repairable and this is why you can pick these units up for very little. Investing in a convertor would be unwise as no firmware updates to smooth out known snags with communication. This unit is at least  20 years old”

And when giving them the part number, they still assure me it will cause problems with speed. Personally I cannot see how.

All I can do is repeat my point.........what would they tell their last Beosound 3200 customers if they needed a warranty repair.

The 3200 uses the same belts!!!!

The converter worked fine when I used one to interface a 2300 with a Beolab 3500  speaker via masterlink with no apparent communication issues.

Sounds like your dealer is using the bull sh1t approach.

Yup I agree... this is the reply to that very question....

"I asked Jim about your query and he assures me the belt is not the same.  He has tried in the past to mix parts from different models only to have issues."

So it's a different belt with the identical part number.

It must be a misprint in the service manual!! I don't think so.

Well... I'll contact a different dealer and see where I get. Anybody recommend one who is receptive to such questions??

Ho AndrewEcosse,

Were you finally able to put your hands on the belt part ?

I too have problems with the sliding doors of my beosound 3000 and I'm looking for the 2732092 part

Thanks !

Hi Dillen,

Any chance you still have a door drive belt for the 2300? (part 2732092)
