Hi fellow beoworlders, I'm really interested in buying the beolab 14 2.1 but have no idea how you'd connect it. I noticed an advert on bang-olufsen Chelmsford Facebook page yesterday advertising the beolab 14 2.1 and stating that all you need for bang-olufsen sound quality from any tv is to simply connect it to your headphone jack on your tv and that's it.

i recently downloaded the user guide from b&0s site the other day and there was no pictures demonstrating that particular hook up.

I even went to b&0 in Chelsea and to be honest the guy i was talking to had no idea. If someone is able to find an instruction manual for the 2.1 beolab 14 or even pictures on how to set it up to a non b&0 tv and put it up on here i would be most grateful.

I heard them recently in Harrods and was absolutely blown away but it was connected to a bv11.

Hi

The BeoLab 14 2.1 is a great setup and one we do very well with to enhance the sound from a non B&O TV.

You need a special cable that we supply to do exactly what you want, for some unknown reason it isn't publicised in manuals but it is on our intranet?!

That's no problem. Like most cables and installs it is custom made but generally speaking a 2-3m cable costs £30.

Many thanks so it isn't as simple as connecting it to the headphone jack of your tv, sounded to good to be true.

You have a non b&o tv then ?

i just read up on these and the beolab 14 2.1 only appears to be recommended for non Beo TVs .

Beo Century ,Beoplay V1, Beocenter 6, Ex-Beolit 12, Beotime , A8. Beolit 15 , Form 2i , Beolab 2000, Beoplay A3.Beosound 1

Yes that's correct i don't have a b&0 tv but from what I've read hooking up a beolab 14 2.1 to a non b&0 tv should be a piece of cake.

Hi Guys

We use an RJ45 cable and solder on a 3.5mm stereo jack cable.

We can help you out if needed!

This is correct.

However B&O does not deliver the cable between the BL14 and the device you would like to connect it to.

These need to be custom made for your purpose.

As far as I understood is correctly, even a speaker out on a TV could be used to connect to the BL14. But then you need the inputs connector,
