Early in 2014 we took delivery of a Beovision 11 46 complete with integral hard drive.
Please consider the following scenario:
20.00hr - 21.00hr watching and recording channel A
21.00hr - 22.00hr watching and recording channel B
Close to 21.00hr the viewing jumps to channel B, and thus the viewer misses the last couple of minutes of the programme (albeit, it will have been recorded in it’s entirety).
A second scenario:
20.00hr – 21.00hr watching channel A
21.00hr – 22.00hr watching channel A and channel B
Close to 21.00hr the viewing jumps to channel B and thus the viewer misses the last couple of minutes of the earlier programme on channel A (this time with no possibility of seeing the end of the programme).
This is extremely annoying and not what we expect from B&O, having other B&O products which appear to work satisfactorily at all times.
If this short-coming is a function of the hard drive, then it is not fit for purpose as sold and an immediate review of the associated software is necessary. Having paid considerably more for the Beovision 11 than other televisions of comparable size, we expected a superior product not only in audio and visual quality but also functionality.
The recording functionality of the BV 11 is indeed mediocre and below B&O standard. I fear that it will not improve any time soon. I would be happy, if they fixed the current bugs, there are plenty.
I was really looking forward to getting this but decided at the last minute to stick with sky , despite it being pretty awful.
Looks like I made the right choice after all...
I have not found any problems if the 'abutting' programmes are taken from different tuners and also that you don't try recording from two channels and viewing a third from the same tuner. You will usually get a a warning if you are trying to set two programmes to record from the same tuner with potentially overlapping ends/ beginnings. If you are not watching a TV channel the TV will simply record one programme with one tuner, and the overlapping programme with the second tuner. If you are doing all the recording on the Freeview tuners, you should be able to watch something on Freesat or Sky without interfering with the recordings.

(My BV11 has the hard drive which came with built-in twin sat and twin Freeview tuners: there may be other variations.)
