Found this entry on her re the Ron Brown Board of Trustees:

Kathy Thornton-Bias

Kathy L. Thornton-Bias is the General Manager of the Retail Division of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.  As the main revenue producing arm of the Museum, 100 per cent of the profits from the retail enterprise go to support MoMA’s programs and exhibitions.

Kathy began her retail career at Saks Fifth Avenue, where she spent over a decade in a variety of positions including merchandising and planning, ultimately becoming the Vice President of the company’s Catalog division. Additionally, she has worked for Target Inc and Time Warner in a variety of related retail positions.

Upon graduation from the University of Virginia, Kathy became involved with the Walter Ridley Scholarship Fund, serving on its Board for two terms.  Currently, Kathy is a Trustee for the College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences at UVA and will next year serve on its Executive Committee.

In addition to volunteerism at the University, Kathy is very active in her local community.  For the past six years she has been a member of the Junior League of Montclair-Newark.  During that time she has served as a Board Member and as Chairperson of various projects and committees that focused on improving the lives of children at risk.  Last year, Kathy authored a comprehensive, multi-cultural, Arts curriculum.  Due to its classroom success, the program has now expanded to three additional agencies in Essex County.

Raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Kathy now lives in Upper Montclair, New Jersey with her husband Michael and sons Jackson, Samuel and Michael.

There might be more on LinkedIn but, like Facebook, I don't want to be part of it!

Only those Best Buys that have a Magnolia store-within-a-store.   Just high-end stuff there.

And appliances, and gift cards, and computers, and so on.

In my opinion, putting BeoPlay in Best Buy was short-sighted.  A truly disgusting shopping experience.  And suggesting Magnolia is different is like saying PONO is a revolution (coming from a 40+ year Neil Young fanboy/codger).  BTW, BB named their Magnolia brand after a tree that is beautiful until it is growing in your yard. Ironic, eh?

Were they inbetween the mega toilet paper packs and 55 gallon drums of peanut butter? Could you buy one or did you have to buy a case or pallet of them? Stick out tongue

They are nasty trees aren't they? Messy and stink when in bloom.

I see she must be a huge fan of one of the worlds biggest selling recording artist, Michael Jackson and a movie star Samuel L Jackson?

"Raised in Louisville, Kentucky, Kathy now lives in Upper Montclair, New Jersey with her husband Michael and sons Jackson, Samuel and Michael".

vikinger:
Additionally, Bang & Olufsen America, Inc. will also be opening its first, newly redesigned, retail concept store in New York City on April 16, 2014.

'Attended the event this evening and took a few snapshots.   Tue was there, in addition to the new B&O/America President Kathy Thornton-Bias.  Manhattan real estate prices being what they are, the retail space is quite compact and a large crowd was in attendance. One wall is composed of separate panels that rotate to expose only the pair of speakers to be auditioned.  A little 'wow factor', as if the store itself was a B&O product.  A BeoPlay A9, H6,and H3 were awarded during the evening's festivities, which continued on at Tue's hotel.  Unfortunately not the Astons.. Sad

Wishing the new President all the success.

Having the "accessible" brand, BeoPlay in more accessible locations can only do good for peoples understanding of B&O.  I bet there are some people that still haven't even heard of it.
