My dad is finally getting a BV11-40 on Thursday, and I would like to mount an AppleTV inside it, but I cannot find any information on what lengths the HDMI and IR cables need to be, so I can order these.

Can any of you guys clarify this??

The TV should come with two IR blaster wires.

The compartments on the BV11 are really intended for the wall hinge motor. There are several posts here where owners complain that their Apple TV's do not work reliably or need frequent resets if mounted inside the BV11........and if you search the Apple support site you will see that vertical mounting is not recommended because of how the components and heat sink(on top) are built.

A 1m cable is fine. However you will need a very thin cable to fit the Apple TV inside. Mine is triple shielded and just could not fit in. Instead I just used a Velcro tape and have it hung from the back of the TV. Works great with the floor stand.

BV11-55, BS9000, BL1, BL19, Transmitter 1, Beo4, Beocom 6000, BeoTalk1 200, Sennheiser HD600, McIntosh MHA100

Thanks for your replies. I was not aware that the compartment is intended for the hinge motor, that's interesting. I have heard a lot about this Apple TV compartment, but could not find anything about it in the user guide, but that makes total sense if it's not originally intended for it Smile

I will buy a thin 1 meter cable.

Thanks again Smile

I am using a stock apple hdmi cable. I guess it's around1,5 metres long and relatively thin. No issues at all. The ir cable is 7 metres long and also very thin. It all fits nicely in the compartment and works without issues.

The BeoVision 11 was originally supplied with an ir blaster with two emitters attached. This was changed recently and you now only get a single ir blaster.

You can brake off the plastic in the opposite site side if the hinge side to make space fore the atv.

I can confirm that only one IR blaster came with the TV.

Thanks for your replies. The TV now sits in my parents livingroom and my dad loves it Smile

That being said, I wish my BV9 was so easy to add PUCs to. I still haven't come to terms with the fact that I need to pay a technician 1.500DKR (app. 200EUR) to update mine everytime I get a new device Sad

They won't connect to network and or stutter when downloading a film

On a 80 mb/sec BT infinty set up !!!

Oddly my macs and ipads can download like rockets so it can't be the network , even my bv11 tv has no problems or my sky boxes .. or various game consoles - ONLY the apple tvs !!!!

Its a well known problem and is discussed at length on the apple discussions site

I do not recognise any issues with the Apple TV. Mine is also wirelessly connected and really 100% stable. Both for Airplaying and streaming services from the internet, like Netflix.

There is a known issue with some Apple TV and their wireless performance.

You contact Apple, give them the serial number, and if yours is in the bad batch they just swap it.

Every other Apple TV I have seen (hundreds) works fine on wifi.

Unfortunately none if the three apple tvs that I have had problems with are on the list !

One is a mk 2 720p the others mk 3 1080ps

They all worked fine until the 6 firmware update.

I'm a true apple fanboy but even I can admit when they mess up....

The stuttering thing has always occurred on all the marks I owned, but the main problem I had on the 11 was that the picture would go black, but the sound remained. Moxxey had the same problem.

I have the same unit connected to the 7-55 and zero problems in a week of heavy use.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
