Two new head phones on the beoplay website, but no information on them or full pictures.

some more information would be nice
It's a teaser, info will come nearer launch.
I like those a LOT, and am looking forward to more info because based on the photos I want a set of each.
They do look interesting!
There's some pics here :

H6 in particular looks very nice - aluminium and leather finish and not even too outrageous a price. Clever connection as well - might actually try some of those!

H6!
I may drop my pipe and kick off my slippers for it!

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Then please do not buy them!
Grrr! Millemissen
Thank you very much, and grrrr to you too.
And how about all those affluent business people sat in first class in the air or on the train, what should they buy much much more importantly?
What annoys me most is that i spend all my time at work defending B&O against the "B&O is just about the cosmetics" brigade, and then you get this press release that only manages to talk about leather of all things. Again grrrrr.
Might get the buds though
FINALLY!!!
Now begins the fasting money saving...
Going to call my dealer and see what the H6 are going to set me back.
Beo4 'til I die!
£360 - 40mm driver - can attach the lead to either side and can daisy chain (WHY?!)
The materials used are designed to make these very comfortable - lambskin for the ear area and leather for the headband for sturdiness. I und3erstand some will want ANR for plane travel but I would never want this and want comfortable good sounding headphones for home use. I can see these possibly fulfilling this role. Will compare with HD600s and RS1s for quality though. They look a lot more comfortable than the older B&O headphones!
Personally, I really like the look of them; particularly the red in-ear, and the natural leather on ear model.
Everyone has different ideas and tastes on looks - which is why we all have different opinions - some vociferously denigrated the V1 TV's as looking like something from IKEA, yet, no one seems to have picked up that the V1 has won an prestigious Red Spot design award.
Either way, I don't really mind, as I really like the V1 design, and I own one to boot, naturally enough.
I think these new headphones are an excellent idea for B&O, as headphones re the entry level into hiFi these days for many people, time poor with work and study commitments etc, and listening to music on the move.
B&W did similar things with their first headphones, and by all accounts they are very good, and have been a great success.
I wish B&O well with these, and hope they really help in the exposure of B&O to a lot more people in the market place.
I have a pair of Earset 3i's and find them delightful, so will be adding at least one of these new B&O headphones to augment them.
Very happy to see B&O adding these to the portfolio and congratulations!
Kind regards
John...

I do agree with that Chris, in a way. Although I like them, I do fear they might be a tad overpriced for the BeoPlay brigade. In-ear headphones are generally £120 or under - these are double that price. I just hope the quality shines through.
I'm pretty happy with my A8's, which I thought represented good value. I can't remember how much they were, but they weren't much above £100. That's competitive - great design, great performance, great price point.
So, will these H6's be £200 or more? Bordering on being the wrong side of badly priced, "Grrrr" or not :)
This site

offers the price tags and a photo of a lady wearing the H6.
If the site gives correct information, the H3 is yours for 250 € and the H6 for 400 € ...
Funny looking "lady" in the picture
As much as I like the design and the specs, I can't help wondering what is B&O's marketing policy nowadays:
- BeoPlay is supposed to be B&O's entry-level brand, and yet even the H3 is the most expensive headphone ever sold by Struer, by far more expensive than the A3 earphones which were already criticized for their price; so I won't even talk about the H6!
- the specs rate both headphones with a 20 Hz-16 kHz range (for the H3), and 22 kHz (for the H6): usually cheaper earphones offer less bass , not less treble! I personally can't hear above 16 kHz, yet I find this weird (do we have to be cautious again with B&O tech specs? After all, looking at them, BeoLab 6002 produces more bass than the 8002!)
- design-wise, although I find both products nice , I can't help comparing the H3 to the new Apple earphones delivered with the Iphone 5, and the H6 to B&W's P5, so where's the revolution? At least my A8s are immediately recognizable..

One solid anodized aluminium block vs white plastic! What’s to compare?
John:Very happy to see B&O adding these to the portfolio and congratulations!
+1.
I really don’t care it’s a BeoPlay product. Never liked the A8, with too much lack of bass. Can’t wait to try the H3.
ɓʋɾɑɳɫɘɮ: H6! I may drop my pipe and kick off my slippers for it!
I'll wait until Jaff has six pairs, then express interest in them, and he'll offer a pair of his to me at the going used price rate.
The H6 are fantastic. Never have worn such comfortable over-ear phones, also superb sound.
Mind though, that I am not audiophile or have experience with a broad variety of headphones, so for me it was an extraordinary experience to use headphones with such sound and comfort.
Those look liek rebadged Sennheiser Headies, there're no real WOW BnO products anymore. We see only Beoplay products, I think the hidden Agenda is that Beoplay will replace in the future the Bno product range copletely. really I dont care about this company anymore
BeoBoy68:Right agree with you Christophe ! Where is the revolution ? Crazy marketing ! High price for something no better as a Sennheiser !
but I agree that the new B&O headphones are... just headphones which aren't to be identified as B&O ;-)
Have you had a chance to hear them re your thoughts about them being no better than a Sennheiser?
Best Regards
TWG: BeoBoy68:Right agree with you Christophe ! Where is the revolution ? Crazy marketing ! High price for something no better as a Sennheiser ! in terms of big high end headphones for home use there are only 3 manufacturers that deliver the wanted high end quality:- Sennheiser- Beyerdynamic- AKG"Beats" etc. are just wannabes with big marketing and more bass than sound... ;-) but I agree that the new B&O headphones are... just headphones which aren't to be identified as B&O ;-)
I agree, and there are also Stax Electrostatics to add to the list for high performance headphones for home use.
But are these new headphones from B&O aimed at that market, or more to compete with the likes of the B&W P5's etc, aimed at high quality sound, but portable use?

With respect, I don't quite understand the negativity.
Having headphones out that will appeal to the tech savvy iPhone crowd is a good marketing move IMHO, and brings B&O to the attention of Y generation and with it the next generation of possible owners of B&O kit
On the other hand, how many would be likely to sell if B&O made something to try and compete with say Sennheisers HD800's, or the Electrostatic Orpheus (if they're still made), or the top Beyerdynamics or AKG's of this world?
As I understand it, headphone sales for portables are huge, and outstrip most sales of separates HiFi systems, so for B&O to have something with undoubtedly excellent sound, and perceived top quality materials and finish in the market place is very good news IMHO.
Besides, it would appear that they are designed in-house; certainly the fully aluminium anodised housing on the H3 is something rather out of the ordinary as far as perceived quality for headphones goes. I would argue that's a B&O design touch if it ever was.
I like the look of them a great deal, and will be excited to see them when they make it into the shops
John..
Grado?
If your not too picky about the looks of the headpones try the Koss Porta Pro. Amazing sound for a fraction of the price. I haven't used my A8's or U70's since I got them. The special BBC edition looks a little better and it's available with a mic as well.

I don't think a young person's attention is driven by the price point B&O are aiming for. Nor is B&O a brand that most iPhone users will gravitate towards, naturally. There would have to be a major USP to get young people to turn their heads in this direction.
Not sure if you've met this 'tech savvy' iPhone crowd, but they regard their iPhone as their most expensive purchase. They just don't have the cash. They aren't going to spend £200 on in-ear buds from a brand they don't recognise....to listen to their poorly-produced One Direction iTunes-sourced audio :)
