Updated price list for Bang & Olufsen as of May 1st 2014.

http://www.beoherning.dk/app/webroot/uploads/Vejl.%20prisliste.pdf

Both the new Beovision Avant 55" (with BeoRemote One) and the new Beolab 20 speaker is in there.

I found the BL 20 ... bottom of page 3

I was confused (not speaking/reading DK) to understand the differences between how the three BV11 Mark IVs were listed

See page 4

The new remote is buried in the details of two or three of those Mk IVs:

  1. 1710 Beo4
  2. 1710 Beo4 fjernbetjening

But has the same part number and price as under the BV10

@BeoGreg - Considering it's now a 55" screen compared to the BV11 46" plus the fact that the Avant has a 4K display compared to the BV11 Full HD display I think B&O is pushing the price in the right direction.

But would be nice to see an updated BV11 with 4K soon, and still with the "tv trade-in campaign" discount.

In fact, with the actual offer (minus 1.500 € until 31st of july) Avant is the same price than BV11-55 on stand (approx 9.000 €).

Of course Avant is 4k but it´s not danish made.

I have 300 tv channels : around 50 in HD, 250 SD, 0 4k.

Will the Avant improve the SD channels ? Doubt it.

The only way to enjoy 4k right now is to make your own movies with GOPro cams.

So Avant is not 7.000 € but 9.000 € and that is still a lot of money for a tv 4k or not.

Where's the promised bargain ?

The new remote is 10% more than Beo4 , is it different or just more dedicated to the TV like the beocentre a while back?

Beo Century ,Beoplay V1, Beocenter 6, Ex-Beolit 12, Beotime , A8. Beolit 15 , Form 2i , Beolab 2000, Beoplay A3.Beosound 1

No-one said it was a 'bargain' (another exaggeration, somewhat like the other guy saying the sound was "bad"), but that EUR 9000 includes the remote and the floor stand. The basic price is EUR 7000, but clearly you need a remote and stand (hence the EUR 9000).

The BV11-55 is more than EUR 9000 with a remote and floor stand though? It's £10,000 here.

I was told today that the Avant 55" will be £7000 in the UK including floor stand and the new remote - that's still about £3000 less than the BV11-55's RRP. You can't really compare it against the BV11-55 with TV trade-in as that's a fairly recent offer. The new Avant will have a trade-in offer in a year, no doubt.

Personally, as a BV11-46 owner (which was £7000), I'd be happy with a new B&O 4K 55" TV with floor stand and a brand new remote, for the same price.

NO ,look at list prices, I think the cost is avant 65990 ddl plus beosystem 4 27995 ddk plus :(

I do not agree. I think they would have included the Beosystem 4 in the accessories below the Avant, like in previous price lists when the BV12 was listed (like this one, page 5: http://www.fux-ag.ch/images/Pdf/preisliste.pdf).

I had specifically asked my dealer if the new TV required an external box/tuner and he said no, everything would be included.

Do you need to buy Beosystem 4 as a separate module like the 12-65 had to have the 3, or is it included in the £7,000 price?

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

@Chris - If that's the case, then I'm afraid the Avant won't sell very well.

However I've not read anything to suggest that. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

@Marcello - I think you are right. If the BS4 was needed for the Avant, then the BS4 would be listed under the Avant in the updated price list.

BV11-55 is around 9.000 € with the actual offer that goes from december 2013 to 31st july 2014 which means it´s permanent.

Don't say I exaggerate when I say that some of us where waiting for a bargain, you see exactly what I mean !

Nonsense to say that Avant price is 7.000 € without remote and stand, it won't work like that.

Stand is much more expensive than BV11 by the way (11.000 dkk / 6.000 dkk).

With this expensive motorized stand the Avant should be able to rotate in the room.

The Avant will cost around 9.000 € with the obligatory stand. That's really no bargain, nowadays this is very expensive. Take a look at this offer for a 4K telly with 65 inches:

http://www.gizmodo.de/2014/04/25/medion-bringt-4k-fernseher-mit-65-zoll-zum-kampfpreis.html

And I tell you: Next christmas you can get 4K TVs with 55 inches for less than 1.000 EUR.

If you take in to account B&O were trying to shift a BV7-55 at over £15K a couple of years ago, twice the price of this new 55" Avant, then managed to bring out two subsequent 55" TVs at a much cheaper price (for B&O), this is the right way forward.

We complained for years that B&O TVs were on a constant upward price projection, they then start bringing the prices down and people are still moaning. I can't believe "bargain" (or lack of) is being used to describe a B&O TV. £7200 for a 55" B&O TV with remote and stand is a relatively competitive price for a B&O TV, for me. It's 25-30% less than the original RRP of the BV7-55.

@Wonder - The Beolab 20 will be sporting a lens if that's what you're wondering.

@Raeuber - But remember when FULL HD displays first arrived. The prices were also sky-high. My dealer always gives me a 15-20 % discount without me even asking for it. I was dreading an even higher price-tag, so to me 7.000 euros doesn't seem so bad.

I think we should applaud B&O for finally being faster to deliver a product using some of the newest technology.

@Moxxey  +1 I agree 100%.

Yes, but for B&O they stay high as they do not introduce need models every year and take that opportunity to drop the prices (I know, there scale prevents them from doing this)

You are a lucky man, I hope you buy the dealer a crate of whiskey for Christmas

@ Elephant - thought I spotted a lens on the silhouette Wink

Yes I will definitely come baring gifts this year if i buy the Avant and/or the BL 20 and he gives me the usual discount. Yes - thumbs up

Yes I se your point regarding prices. But if I have to buy a 4k 55" top model from Samsung it's about 4000 euros right now. Then another 1000 euros for a decent sound bar.

So right now B&Os price tag is not that bad. But yes, when that Samsung is 2000 euros next year - B&O should look at the price tag, maybe a new trade in discount.

I wonder if this was all a deliberate ploy by B&O to test the water for a couple of days and see the reaction of forum users? LOL! With Moxey liking the prices we might be in troubled waters!!! Only joking Chris. I have to say though, I am not sure where I stand on this one having seen the prices. It is true that if looking at other manufacturers, one has to consider a decent stand and excellent sound bar. An absolute must since we are so used to the great look, sound and operation of B&O. In this regard prices won't be far off paying the extra for B&O. So from this viewpoint the pricing structure is interesting.

Pricing is always tricky as people shop in different ways. With me for example, I have recently been thinking of paying around the £2,000-£3,000 mark for a brand new TV because I know what a great set I can get for that, albeit the frustrations of it not being what I am used to, i.e. B&O. So £7,000 may not tempt me. If it was £4,000-£5,000 however, I may well impulsively buy it on the spot feeling there was value for money attached at this price point for B&O design and technology. That's how I always buy - when I am not actually looking to buy! I just need that extra temptation from my favourite brand to tickle me over the edge!

I must say that judging from the very positive reviews about the look of the new Avant, from those that have seen it, and reading about the moving speakers and magic etc, its really getting me going! I really didn't think I was going to get enthused again over this like the old days but I can feel those physiological changes coming on! LOL!!! I do like it and I hope so much this TV is as exciting as people are saying. It was always the magical moving parts that introduced me to the brand and that I got so excited about seeing them in action. What a comeback for B&O and so happy for them I would be. I want them to succeed and be the best they have always been. Their designs have been so inspirational over the years.

Can you tempt me back B&O? 2 days to go! And I have changed my mind about going to the event! I'll be there!

Any news of a 46" or 50" version of the Avant because 55" is still difficult for me to accommodate in my home. Anyone know? Would 4K even be noticeable on these smaller screens anyway?

Best wishes to all and enjoy the rest of the weekend...

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Hi there

i am equally as gutted by this also, I asked a dealer last week about Beemer output and i ws told bang and olufsen dropped the beo living concept.

It would appear masterlink and Beemer control both things I loved are gone.

i suppose the only way to go is a matrix that drives all devices. The answer is hd dist it to use a hdmi splitter but we have less and less integration going forward and right in the time when everyone else is moving towards home automation and connectivity.

Netflix - still a no-go, apparantly some hardware not supporting it, and that's the reason why V1 and BV11 hasn't got it either. This is not something which can be fixed in software. I use apple tv anyways, so personally I don't bother.

Why - the h**k - should that be a problem?

Tons of lowprice tv's and small boxes are capable of running Netfix.

It's just an app - no big deal.

I have an ATV too - but it would be nice to have Netfix as a 'Source' just like Spotify and Youtube.

Would make things easier - just one push (or two) of a button and Netflix comes on Smile

Wonder how they are going to show the 4K possibilities?

The number of low price tv’s per brand are much higher than Beovisions. Maybe there lies your answer to this ”no big deal” issue. Not sure though, but I can’t think of anything else. On the other hand, we all want a remote with a limited number of buttons. Plain and simple, at least I do. And using 3rd-party devices, PUK-controlled isn’t the worst thing. It was always a unique selling point, and it still is.
