Here in Germany there is no reason to celebrate the end of world war 2. 😱

Of course, can't stop laughing on that one !

Maybe the Avant is already in the shop, will try to check this afternoon and listened to BL 18 untill the offer is available.

The new beolink gateway should be out in June or July.

It will be a tremendous update over what we have now.

It's not necessary if course to operate any if the kit. But will make tremendous improvements to your whole home setup if you have lighting, etc. attached.

Look for June or July.

I really hope the new TV is rubbish, as I have just invested in an 11-55, which is fantastic

My only query is, given the rumoured price of the new TV, where have corners been cut?

B&O has a very high margin, so they can cut that if they want.

Someone mentioned it was not made in Struer. But I do not know if that's true or not. I'd take that with a big pinch of salt.

Just whent to my dealer seeking for Avant.

Well nothing there yet.

Official presentation is 15th of May in France and the arrival of the Tv is scheduled for the 16th.

Big problem for the french market !

I listened to BL 18 and 17 both wireless. The 17 are unbelievable for the size and I was a bit desapointed by the 18 (at first).

I asked what was the sound mode, if it was "music", and the reply was yes.

In fact it was "movie" mode, I prefered the sound aftet switching to "music".

The offer on the BL 18 is definitely 1.000 € for old BL8000 (I've been told 800 € the first time) end´s 15th of May.

Still not sure about the speakers but I was waiting for a ALT 8000 for ages and this is it !

B&O has a very big plant in the Czech Republic also so I would not be surprised if they assemble tv´s there too. And we should not forget that most parts are made in different places in the world and partly assembled in Struer, or Czech or any other place. It does not matter too much as long as it is B&O.

I think the new TV with it´s slightly lower price point (if it is so) will be a bigger success for B&O if it is easy to install for the customer itself. We have already seen that with the Beosystem 4 platform which is very easy to configure for the customer itself. This cut´s down on installation costs and support. It is a more modern system and it is easier to sell. Which all in all means more money coming in to the company. A good thing!

I'm confused by your text... Are they now really so much better then the old one's? Gonna ask the dealer for a listening next week.

There are no serieus reviews to find between 8000 en 18 on the net. If the 18's are more airy in the high's then I consider to buy them.

It might be that the first bunch of Avant is made/assembled in Struer, but you can be sure that very soon the 'production' of that tv will be located in the B&O factory in the Czech (if it isn't already).

You could - if you would - call that 'cutting corners' (because of the lower wages there).

I think that is one of the 'corners cutted' - Michael has mentioned a couple more above.

But first of all the team of Tue has been able to reorganize the firm - it took some hard work to get there..

My guess is that the BV11 soon will be less expensive (and will be updated) , and the forthcoming tv's also will be at a reasonable price (depending on how you define resonable).

No, my concern is that I don't find the BL 18 so much better than my 8000.

They seem better on a quick listening in the shop, but maybe at home they will be much better ?!

With the actual offer (-1.000 €) it´s a very good deal (a bargain ?) and the occasion to have modern technology.

They where much better for music listening with music mode than movie mode. Music came wireless via Ipad mini.

Maybe with BS9000 they are much better ?

@ Beogreg ---- Ah ok, I suppose you listen to the BL8000 from BS9000 at home, In the shop you had a demo from the iPad to BL18. This is for sure no comparison. Thanks!

Will the new Beolink work together with the current MLGW do that you could use one app for both. Will any of the updates make to the MLGW also?

My understanding is that it is a replacement.

It will work with both ml and nl products.

I anticipate a new app for it with many more features.

Its deadly dull here, earlier at beoworld we saw leaks , drawings, computer images from others. Now nothing. empty space.

Simple, Gatex. Dealers have had to sign a strict NDA - with large fines if leaks occur - so there's little information out there.

Besides, this board has a strong and healthy relationship with B&O. It's not "bandorumours.com". The board owners have an obligation to the brand and the brand doesn't want leaks for today's release. The board is legally liable for the info and posts on here, not the individual.

^ I wish that would change to " Here is our new TV and remote" hahaha

Maybe they're trying to organise some Apple style product hype ? I guess it's not a bad thing.
