I wonder if the Floorstand included with the Avant comes without motor. If so, only the motor for the floorstand would cost 10.995 DKK. I cannot believe this.

I read it as the (motor) floor stand is included. As well as the remote. But given that the table stand and the floor stand is the same price you can probably choose the table stand at no extra cost.

If you were right, those who do not buy the motor, would have to pull out the speakers manually Big Smile

So much so that you can pull out the internals of the Beo1, and replace them with an Apple Remote! It works, an aussie Beoworlder by the name of Dave did it a few years ago!!

I have "seen" it today. Chances are that if you are walking into a B&O store today, someone will be busy setting it up.

Tha panel itself was covered for most of its surface as they were setting up the stand. I could only get a glimpse of the top corners and the back (definitely no need for the Beosystem 4, as discussed in the other thread, and Made in CZ).

The stand. My biggest worry (a single stand for 55,74,84") just materialised. It is BIG. The diameter and the height of the circular base is almost double as the one for the BV11-55 which was meters away in the shop. I might be exaggerating since I haven't seen the complete setup, but it could be a showstopper as far as my requirements are concerned.

Ive heard the stand needs to be big to accomidate the way it swivels so it can turn to you even if your sitting in the corner of a room!

I just figured out from the price list that it comes with a non-motorised stand (which I am yet to see), so the guy at the dealer basically had no clue when he told me that only motorised stands would be available. Hopefully the standard stand is less prominent!

Chris Townsend:

Chris, it's a 4K panel, it doesn't mean you're buying it to watch 4K. It's not a necessity. It's an option.

Besides, on a 55" TV, 1080p will be fine. You don't need 4K for a 55". 85", yes, perhaps.

The reason for buying the new Avant shouldn't be 4K. It should be the design and performance foremost, the price second and, last of all, 4K capability.

Theres one type of floor stand and it moves on two axis. The big plate can move 360 degrees and the smaller one, where the tube+tv is mounted, can be adjusted as well. Don't know how much though, but as there's cables connected there is a limit. Can't wait to try it out :)

As for the size, its a heavy and wide tv and theres the laws of gravity - i guess thats why the plate is that big.

I could be wrong, but I was told it's going to be £7250 in the UK, with a stand and remote. How is that twice the price of a BV11-55 (which is just short of £10K with stand and remote)?

There's so much pre-launch negativity on this board, mostly from people who recently bought a BV. Odd, eh? :)

I worked it out to be £7,700 so somewhere in between would be about right. A very good price point considering whats just gone before!

Yep should be £7250 for the 55 around £15k for the 74 and £22k for the 84

As someone said no Bs4 needed but will find out Tom :-). If that's true marks the end of the Bs 4 :-( short lived...

Why the end of the BSys4?

It is still needed and usefull for a pure cinema solution.

Some of us are worried.

B&O tv´s are "less" expensive but you have to change them more often with minimal (if any) trade in value !

Times have changed and will see from tomorrow if it´s for the better.

Am I the only one anoyed by the end of danish built ?

when my bv11 was delivered  a tiny piece of paper floated out of the box , it was signed qc tag for the stand

the installers ignored it and threw it away ( but i noticed it )

shame as that's the kind of little thing that companies like leica make a big deal about with their hand built stuff , it adds 'MAGIC'

i think bno are missing a trick here

Right, it's all about physics! Center of gravity is much higher. It doesn't surprise me, the plate is bigger then the BV11-55 stand.

Sounds odd if the plate can move 360 degrees. But if it can move 180 degrees max, in both directions, there should be no problem with cables.

I don't think, there are many differences between "made in DK" and "made in CZ". Czech republic is not in Asia.

I will probably purchase a sys4 for my bv4-65.

I want Netlink to get me somewhat future proofed.

The ability to distribute over 10gig opens up digital distribution of various medium.

I will grab one up personally.

The sys4 processing is far better than the sys3 and is great for my theater room.
