I spoke to my dealer, they had the same issue, it was resolved by changing the energy saving setting to off!
D-day! My Avant is scheduled for delivery after lunch. And lucky me, I´m free from work for 4 days starting tomorrow.
Lots of time for making pictures for us!
Congrats!

There is a tv - and there is a BV

Thanks!
Michael:Michael, when you installed the television on the stand, is your pole at the back of the round base or the front of the round base when your Avant is on? I saw in press photos that it is at the back, however i thought i saw it at the front with your setup. Hope your trip is going well Cheers MH

The stand is motorized. When TV is off, the pole is in back position. When turned on, the TV goes to wanted position.
By the way, wife called and reported package is delivered. Time to call it a day.
Package waiting in the garage.

Are you installing it yourself Daniel? Do you have any help? It's incredibly heavy - my dealer is sending a two man install team and still claims it will take 4-5 hours to remove the BV11, unbox and install the new Avant. The new floorstand alone itself is rather a quest to install.

Remember that Euro pallet has a deposit value of around 10 euros, so you can get a part of your investment back if you don't chop it into your fireplace
Now get busy installing!

Yes, I will install by myself. Always have, but wasn't aware of the complexity. Luckily I'm having 4 days vacation.
I am getting a strong feeling from these posts that our fellow Scandinavian enthusiasts are left to install their B&O products themselves!! Is this the case? Not sure I could cope with that! :)
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

Was just talking with my brother-in-law about that. It will end in the fireplace. :-)
He helped me to carry (TV box 72 kg, floor stand box 60 kg).
First mistake was cutting the vertical plastic band round the boxes. :-( No problem with the small box (the stand). But the bands was needed to keep the TV-box in one piece. We couldn't use the smart handles because then we only lifted the box itself. We had to carry holding under the bottom part of the box. Very unstable (high mass centre) up the stairs to the house and down the stairs to the cellar. Nervous but we made it. :-)

Both Michael and I turned down the installation help from the shop (same shop). The dealer gave me same hints discovered by Michael, like remove the transport safety screw in the floor stand (not mentioned in the manual).
Yes, they pay an amount of money that the majority of buyers would never pay for a TV set.
And then they turn in to be the best DIY'ers also, strange people those Scandinavians

Out of curiosity, do you get charged for installation in other countries?
When my dealer installed my BV10 (easel stand), there were 2 people. They installed two BL 6000, brackets for a Mac/Airport Extreme/PS3. CHF 1000 (~ EUR 820).

No, installation was included in the price so I got some extra 3D glasses for free instead.
Started with the small box. It contained 3D glasses and the remote. Oh, I already love the remote. The setup was very Apple inspired with the box, the little boxes for the battery and manual. And you get a small pin (like the SIM for iPhone/iPad) to open for the battery. Display starts with an elegant Bang & Olufsen followed by a selection for language. That's it. As the TV is still in the box I tested it on the LC1. Worked so easy, no need for the manual.
No I don't pay for installations, never have. I live in Denmark.
Reading the general B&O warranty information. The warranty doesn't cover "Minor defects in displays, meaning no more than 4 defective pixels per million pixels. In the center of the screen (if divided in 9 equal rectangular area) no more than one defective pixel should be".
Just installed today the stand has to be experienced at home to feel its magic how you guys manage to install by yourselves I don't know it's gigantic

Congrats with your new Avant. It looks great. We're looking forward to read about your experience with this wonderful piece of art.

In Finland, Avant installation costs 75€ / hour. Or maybe they just charge me, because of the typically nice offers I get for new kit Or perhaps this varies from dealer to dealer.
Installation of Avant is definitely a two man job. Same for BV11. However, the B&O installer – who brought the BV11 to me, unpacked it, assembled the floor stand and helped me lift the BV on it – didn't add any installation costs to the deal back in the day.
All the cabling and settings I wanted to do myself anyway, and that's what I'll do with Avant too – once I feel it's safe to buy it. To that end, I'm hoping to read lots of positive impressions and experiences here

B&O product history since 1991: Ridiculously long to list in a signature.
Next week delivery of the BV11-46 at my mother in law. Placement on the wall, including an aluminium cable tray from 1meter, all required cables, changing her STB box to the latest model with record possibility (he is not a dealer from this cable company). He told me the install would take around 4 hours. Price.... always included when you buy your new B&O gear. He installed under optimal quality everything I bought in the past.
Why doesn't B&O just factor it all in the cost and say it is x amount for the TV including: stand, TV, remote and installation. Even if you are paying for it, you don't need to see it. Simple.
But I do have a question though! It's about speakers.
If the Avant has 3 channels in the TV such as Left, Right and Centre, if i use my BL3s as rear speakers, does that mean i would have 5 channel sound and thus just need to add a subwoofer such as BL11?
I like the look without external front left and right speakers if the motorised inbuilt speaker can act in this role? Does someone know? :-)
Thanks in advance.
Dear guys,
I just wanted to comment that I like how this thread is still placed on top of the general foram section even 1 month after the release of the new Avant. That's got to say something about how this TV is received so far. Obviously not a bad job at all by B&O. And there will always be some who have got something to complain.
Greetings,
Kai
does amyone know if the new BeoRemote can control the light functions such as the Beo4
