Folks - I have just bought a Beogram CD50 to link up with my 5500 series, though it is working well I have to operate it manually as it will not link with the 5500 Top Remote or the 1000 hand remote. I have linked the two phonos from the rear of the CD player through to a 5 Pin Din linkup. Is there somewhere that you can get phono connectors that link up with a 7 Pin Din whereby this 5500 will recognise the CD player?
Many thanks David

No!
There is a tv - and there is a BV
The CD50 has a 7-pin DIN socket on the back. Why not just use the correct 7-pin DIN lead to connect it to your 5500? that will enable datalink and allow you to control it from your MCP.

Oh sorry - my mind put on the CD-X.
Lee is right

You need a 7 pin DIN lead - it will then work fine. You probably could mess around with an extra cable from the datalink pin on the CD50 to the BM5500 but it will look silly and the DIN cable is simply better.

Hi,
Since a short lead is only needed really, I bought two DIN 7-pin plugs and I used 20 cm of symetric microphone cable (ground braid and three wires) to make my own. You only have to use PIN 7 if memory serves. A 10 minute job, cost 5€.

Thank you all for your posts I have used the correct data cable to link the CD50 through my 5500 series - everything is working fine.
