lundmark: Have you noticed anything else that's different?
In the 'source' menu you could choose to hide the inputs not needed/used.
Now you can activate/deactivate them individually through a new menu.
Would have been nice, if we could have a 'move' function - just like in the 'List' on the Beo4 - in order to place the most used inputs as the first items.
The (HDMI) inputs now also shows the number of the HDMI-port after the name, you have choosen for it.
I haven't figured out how to (or if you can) get rid of that?
There are now some pics in the 'source setup menu' that shows how to setup the ir-connection with the choosen external device.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Switch-on time for the BV11 seems to be faster, although I can't be certain because I did not time it before!
Hit the Beo4 TV button, and the TV moves on the hinge fairly quickly, with the new B&O name waving bright and dim across the centre of the screen. Stand stops, screen goes black, curtains open. Also I haven't noticed the programme name appearing immediately in the top strip... you now need to prompt it to come up using the joystick toggle.

My V1 takes less than 8-10 seconds to turn on - after I have activated the 'quicktimer'.
I never see the 'splash-screen' anymore.

That might be the case, but you are also using about 35W in Standby instead of <1W, or with the current electrical prices and 19 Standby hours a day that equals to about 65€ (500kr) per year.

What's 65 euro compared to all the money we are spending on B&O gear. ;):D

Having examined and played with the software update, I'm impressed!
The tweaks to the menu user interface and, for example, EPG in this update are welcome and bring a "polished" feel to using Beovision 11. Another nice touch is that when selecting speakers connected to the TV, if "Help" is displayed, you see illustrations of the speakers when browsing the list.
The DLNA App that Flappo recommended (TV Assist) for iOS is superb, for all kinds of content – no matter where the content is located (on your phone, in the cloud, on a media server, on Facebook, Instagram, etc). The App brings content sources really nicely together!
I like the way the DLNA renderer works: no matter what source you are watching on TV, as soon as you start streaming photos, videos or music from your i-Device, it takes priority and appears on the screen. Nice & handy – no need to first switch the source to HOMEMEDIA. Using the Beovision's DLNA is more straightforward than using Airplay via Apple TV.
I noticed that with PLEX Media Server on my computer, it's really handy to select movies from the server using iPhone & the TV Assist App, and view them on TV. Movies of course stream from the PLEX media server itself, so no need to have the movies on iPhone/iPad, etc. Throw in "PolyMote" for iPhone, the 2-way remote control App made exclusively for Wi-Fi enabled Beovisions, and it's easy to control the whole Beovision setup with all connected devices using only the iPhone.
Off-topic, but handy:
For those who might try PolyMote, remember to swipe the arrow buttons (navigation buttons) on the App to the direction of the arrows. Clicking the arrows result in a Select/OK press. Before I realized that swipe was needed, the App seemed rather useless. Once I figured out how the arrows work, navigating menus, channel lists, EPG, etc became a breeze with PolyMote. This was the only "learning curve" with the App – otherwise it's completely setup-free and I find using iPhone more convenient than iPad with B&O's own remote control software. iPhone fits in the hand, and PolyMote's look and feel is completely "B&O" by design, especially with its latest version.
Back on topic: support for BeoRemote One has arrived!
At least for Beovision 11, under SETUP -> PRODUCT INTEGRATION -> REMOTE CONTROL there is now the option to choose between "BEOREMOTE ONE" and "Beo4, Beo5/6". This suggests that the TV is now ready for BeoRemote One's button layout and perhaps even the MyButtons functions.
This maybe "pseudo", but I could swear the picture on BV11 got a little bit better as well. Examining the update further, under Customer Sevice Menu -> SW VERSIONS, there is now a separate video engine software version for FHD (Full HD) and UHD, so it might be that B&O have made improvements to the FHD picture algorithms...
A nice update!

That is a matter of priority!
I could easily figure out other situations where one might save a loooot more energy!

Well - the quicktimer of my V1-32" is on 13 hours per day.
Where did you get the 35 watts from.
Since I got my V1 I watch at least one hour less on my 'big screen' in the livingroom - so actually I save energy
@KMA (and/or Flappo) - how about the in-app purchases of the TV Assist app?
Are they needed - what do they bring (extra)?

rob08: but wish that B&O will update their Beoremote app for iPad to work on iPhone
Hi,
if you are looking for an app to control your (new)TV not only from iPad but also from iPhone I really can recommend the "PolyMote" app.
Simply search in App Store on your iPhone for "PolyMote"...

Millemissen: I must say - it is rather uncomfortable. Maybe I missed something And maybe - after all - the 'old' 'P-Mute' function was better? Problem is - you can't turn off the 'Auto P-Mute'. I would very much like to hear how things are with other BV11/12NG/V1-users. Guess I'll have to 'play around' a bit more tomorrow.

i did not miss anything - unfortunately
I wrote the BeoCare today and - after less than an hour - I ad the answer.
You can not turn off the 'auto-muting' of the picture when playing audiosources!
How do you feel about it? Do you like this function, or would you rather like to decide yourself if it should be activated or not?
I would prefer deciding myself AND being able to manually turn it off temporarily (maybe with one of the coloured buttons).
That is what I suggested in the BeoCare-mail. See if it helps?
KMA: I'll start a new thread on this, with detailed description of my setup (with screen captures). It's the best of two worlds united: B&O and Apple, in the palm of your hand. Oh, and you can throw in any blu-ray player or other external PUC source as well.

Excellent idea - thanks.
I have an ipad and Beovision 11. How exactly do I go about setting up DLNA, so I can stream photos and music?
I get the other improvements, but anything to do with webmedia I haven't a clue! I have only recently bought the fabulous Beovision 11!

Hi thorne,
please do tell us, if we have to start with the beginnings: the network?
No need for telling things you already know!
Is your BV11 connected to the internet through a router?
Hi
yes, I am connected! Pretty clued-up generally re techie things. It's just the webmedia thing on thé 11
I really I don't hâve à clue about, spécially DLNA, cos I've never been into it!
Sounds easy enough. Thanks very much. The only thing is that all my photos are on my Mac. Will that prove a problem?
amy other hints you can give me about how to get the best out of webmedia?
I don't seem to see any motion problems with my 11 after the update. Nice to know they can do things about it in software.
1. Is there any advantage in using the DLNA over using Apple TV?
2. One other thing, I don't suppose the automatic picture mute is clever enough to distinguish between 2 uses of ATV - one showing photos, and the other just listening to music
3. I am using the Freeview radio on my 11. How do I add extra stations? Is there an EPG for the radio? How do I access it?
Also, not even the radio screen switches off automatically. This is probably because there is station info. on the screen but even so, it is purely audio
jans: Is the screenshot you added for music from 8player? Mine looks totally different.

In fact that was from an older version of the 8Player.
Here is a screenshot of the recent - from my iPad Mini:

1. Apart from the fact that DLNA is built-in, and you have to pay for the ATV-box, so not real........
Just kidding! - why choose one OR the other?
Depending on your wishes and your other devices, you will like one of them more.
Have a try to see, what's best for you.
You will probably end up with using both, as they have different strengths.
2. Why don't you just try it out - and tell us
3. Do you mean the radio stations that come with your tv-signal? If yes - just try another 'search' to see what you get.
Never heard of an EPG for the radio stations - might be different in different regions depending on the provider?

Now - there surely is something to work on with that function for the guys in Struer.
Hope they notice it, when they are at home using their own private BV's.
KMA: Millemissen: @KMA (and/or Flappo) - how about the in-app purchases of the TV Assist app? Are they needed - what do they bring (extra)? MM The in-app purchases bring 1) Unlimited Photos, 2) Unlimited Videos, 3) Unlimited Music and 4) Online Media Pack (allowing cloud integration to Dropbox & Goole Drive and media in Instagram, Flickr, Vimeo, FB, etc). Otherwise there'll be this annoyning "wait for 30 seconds" break to content playback after a certain number of photos, movies or music is played. The Online Media Pack is a nice feature: you can play content from cloud services and social media. The 4 in-app purchases are € 0.89 each, which is peanuts IMO. There's another App, which looks identical to TV Assist and is from the same developer, called "iPlayTo". iPlayTo is free and does not offer in-app purchases. I've yet to check if it's a fully working free variant of TV Assist...

KMA - are you really serious about the recommendation of this app?
I did go for the 'whole pack' and got the 'iPlay To HD' version of it (with all features activated).
First thing, it asked for permission to use my photos from the device. Since I hardly have any on my iPad (that I want to see on the big screen) I said NO!
I wanted the app for accessing my files on my NAS (the 'Browse Media' section) and wanted to give the 'Play Online Media' section a try, the first three categories aren't that much interesting (they are only for local content, as I learned).
Now (each time I get to the main screen) I am prompted to do, what I don't want to - and I repeat: EACH TIME!
The interface (of the 'Browse Media' section) is - imo - boring! Textbased - only shows the file structure of your NAS with very small cover pics, when you get to an album.
There is no 'Now Playing' screen, when you play the files - which for me with music playing is important - (might be different for others?).
The content of the 'Online Media' section is the usual - who needs that?. I don't have pictures or music or video on either of these services (maybe someone else has?), and I don't have a Facebook account with thousands of pics...
The only interesting thing there is Youtube (and maybe Vimeo). Tried that also and (as I generally am not in the mood for 'pre-cooked content') I used the search function.
Every time I was presented of content that might or might not have a lot to do with what I searched for - three searches, and I was done with it
And - by the way - who needs 'Youtube' deep down inside a (paid for) app-interface? Any Youtube app nowadays will allow you to push the content to your BV11/V1.....
Might all be different on an iPhone and/or if you have other preferences than I?
For playing local content (from the iPhone) it surely will work, but for content from your network/NAS this is crap.
If someone will give it a try (which I recommend - to see if I am wrong) I'd advice to get the plain 'TV Assist' app and then buy what ever function you need from within the app.
I ditched it and go for the '8Player' and/or for the 'Skifta' app - if I am not returning to my good old friend: the 'PlugPlayer'
don't blame kma , it's my fault lol
if you've found a better app , that's grate !!
:)
Si is there a DNLA app I can download onto iPad which will give access to my photos and music on iTunes on my Mac and play them on the 11?
@KMA - As everyone can see - you and I use this app (and DLNA) in two completely different ways.
What one may learn of it is, that everyone has to find his/her own way, make his own choices to achieve what he/she intends to do.
I guess we will both be curious of what other app's may bring - that is the only way to learn.
I think we surely can agree that the new 'renderer' function has upgraded our BV's
thorne: Si is there a DNLA app I can download onto iPad which will give access to my photos and music on iTunes on my Mac and play them on the 11?
Not directly!
To get access to the files from a DLNA app (like the TV Assist app or the 8Player....), you will have to install a DLNA server on the Mac.
In the settings of the server you can define, which files it may 'use'.
Which one is best for pictures, I can't say?
To start somewhere try reading about XBMC here:

Greetings
Thanks all for a very interesting and helpful thread - I've added the various recommended DLNA apps to my iPhone/iPad to try out, and certainly appreciate the recommendations.
I've scant experience with DLNA being an apple centric user with an ATV which I use in conjunction with the B&O iPad remote app, and the Apple remote app, streaming either music content in ALAC from my mac, or podcasts, Youtube clips etc.
So it will be fun to give the DLNA apps a try.
I've had the update for a few days, and find it excellent so far.
I've taken out a 'Premium' Deezer account to give it a whirl and see how ti compares to Spotify, and have had no issues connecting to if from my V1-40.
The addition of being able to associate speaker groups, as well as sound and picture modes with a particular source input is a nice touch which adds to the convenience factor, by reducing the amount of button pushing required.
I find I prefer the new graphic interface, although when updating the EPG it's taking a bit of getting used to, as the look is more sparse minus the light grey and muted maroon background colours previously used.
But It's also a more timeless, classic look, and I do like that - all white on black, with grey highlights and shading.
All in all, i'm delighted!
Kind regards
John...

Definitely! BV11 is now more of a complete multimedia machine than it was before
Looking at the mess the avant is , I'm glad I stuck with the 11
Flappo: Looking at the mess the avant is , I'm glad I stuck with the 11
For the time being, so am I...
Maybe, maybe not - we will see, when more user reviews come.
Anyway I miss the Netradio-update (which the Avant has!) on my V1 - would have been nice.
Note! you can not stream internetradio over DLNA - we still need AirPlay (or just the ATV-box) for that.
