BV 7-55 - even after nearly three years astonishing every day.
Hard to say. I've owned a couple of the older items and the ones that I've kept are all great in their own right. The Beosystem 7000 including Beolink 7000 and the LCS 7000, the Pentas, the Beogram 4000, the Beolab 5000 panel speakers, Beolab 4000s the Beosystem AV 9000, the Avant RF, the Beocenter 1. I like all of these products.
No keepers for me were: Beosystem 4500 (preferred the 7000), Beovox 45-2s - the overall package just didn't do it for me, the Beocenter 9500 - found it surprisingly unspectacular; not bad but just nothing special either and the Beolab 4500 panel speakers - too small to fit my walls.

I do not have a stock B&O product in mind for this question.
As it is and have been since 2003 I use old school pre 1992 products for the most part as I like them and can afford them etc.
Again it was fun to try a lot of them and some of it I have had for years now.
The original white Beosystem 6000 I got late 2007 and serviced by Dillen in 2008 is still together working great and sounding great being radio, tape or recordplayer.
Some of it needed Dillen before I even got to use it. A few worst dogs was cured and I could have selected better but best purchase?
As long as I find the price fair enough regardless of B&O product new or old does it fit in with what I want to do. Going into thrift stores and seing Beocords for instance. Do I need another?
I find that B&O's products are very good and I stick to the brand. I am never disapointed when I get another product home even if it is faulty to some degree. B&O is made with love and care. The products do what they do and there is no best.
I got a white BM8000, Beosystem 6000 and 6500. I enjoy them all on an equal level. I do not find one system to really blow the other away with what I got even when I try.
On a technology scale I exept the B&O products to last as long they do. A few do work even after 20- 30 odd years which I can't find in another brand of hifi.
So to sort of conclude this. Any B&O product is the best even for me.
White Beosystem 6500. Bought from Leslie. Absolutely mint, and impossible to get where live. Leslie kindly sent it to the other side of the world. Nice piece of vintage gear. Built like a tank.
Sounds nice. White! Never knew they made one. Would have waited if I knew.
Pound for Pound (or Euro for Euro, Dollar for Dollar etc..) - for what it cost, the amount I use it, and for how good it is at what it's supposed to do...

I use it every single day, I bought it for £100 on eBay, and I love it. It's a nightmare trying to get it to sit up in 'landscape' on a carpet, but that's a small price to pay.
It's an unsung hero for me.
If value for money takes a slight second place I think the BeoVision 7 - 55" is the best purchase I've ever made. An incredible TV - and I've just sold my 11-55 to go back to one...

A stacked system (I have both 5000 and 6500). I may get rid of one of them but never both. They look too good, sound too good, don't take up a lot of space, and are too essential since I'll always have old records, tapes & CD's.

BL3s. Powerful, flexible, yet take up a relatively small amount of floor/room space. Ideal.
However, the product that receives more (positive) comments than anything else, is the wall-mounted BV10-32. Universally, this is regarded as a triumph, by anyone who comes to my apartment (and I have a lot of B&O kit on display).
Best purchase BV11.
Most value for money purchase A3.
Best second life purchase: early white Beomaster 2000 brought back to life by Martin (Dillen).

Beosystem 2 received most comments and had the highest feel good factor in terms of materials. Never owned a BS9000 but that would also be on my list.
My beolite 12 , this is what introduced me to b&o ,and to find beoworld.

Definitely my BeoVision 9. It was the only TV I saw as a worthy successor for my Avant, but I was afraid that I would be disappointed after spending that much money on a used tv. Well I have had it for over 3 years and I still smile every time I see it

That's a tough question as each piece I've bought, new or used, has added a lot of either capability or just satisfaction to my audio systems. But, overall, I'd say it has to be my first big B&O purchase, the BS9000 and BL8000 combo. Before that I kept churning gear every couple of years, different speakers, different electronics. Once I got the B&O setup I just stopped worrying and obsessing over the electronics, and just started using the system and enjoying the music and not worrying about any audiophile BS. It sounded so good, was so easy to use, and looked just so stunning I have to say that it has been the single most satisfying and rewarding audio purchase I've ever made, and that includes my first real "good" system when I got out of college. (Said system was a pair of DCM Time Window speakers, an Armstrong integrated amp, a Rotel cassette deck, an Onkyo T4 tuner, and a Denon DP1100 turntable. When I got the B&O the system was a Heathkit FM3 FM tube tunner, a Van Alstine Super PAS3i tube preamp, a Denon DCD-1500 Mk II CD player, a McIntosh MC240 tube amp, a VPI HW19 turntable with ADC LMF2 carbon fiber arm and Sumiko Blue Point Special cartridge, and a pair of NHT 2.3a speakers.) The B&O setup satisfied me more than any of that stuff did.

I know exactly what you mean, so busy tuning your installation. You forgot to listen to music.
Decades ago I counted myself also as 'audiophile listener' till the day I asked myself 'What on earth am I doing'. Then I sold all my gear, switched to B&O and started listening to my records. My best buy I did from B&O, well... Beolit 707.
My worst selling I ever did? Sold my Linn Sondek LP12.

Here's another dirty little secret for an ex audiophile to admit...one of the things I loved so much about the BS9000 was the ability to control bass/treble/loudness from my listening seat, and even to have such things again as my minimalist preamp eschewed such things.
The CD that you're listening too a bit bright, notch back treble one click (works great for those early CDs with aggressive high end). A CD a bit bass shy, notch up the bass. Wife going to bed but you still want to sit up a bit and listen to music, volume down and hit the loudness, which in B&Os case seems to work remarkably well to make low volume sound simply full and enjoyable without being boomy and such.
Which is really the B&O philosophy I think, technology in the service of music rather than the other way round.

I agree entirely Jeff, and heartily second your thoughts.
As to the OP - I'd have to say - ALL of it.
For me, coming to B&O saved me from ever burgeoning concerns of an obsessive and at time neurotic nature arguably atypical of an audiophile, where concerns about the kit had surreptitiously displaced the enjoyment of the music as the raison de etre of the system.
I got into Hifi as a classically trained musician, wanting access to high quality reproduction of my favourite music in the home. "The closest approach to the original sound" was the mantra that I intially followed.
However, like many, I got caught up in all the machinations of the audiophile, and like Jeff, came to the point of looking at all the multiple boxes, cables, racks, clutter, expense and ownership rituals, performance 'tweaks' etc, and woke up one day to realise that my original intentions of buying a system had become subsumed to all this audiophile tom foolery, and that I was no longer listening to the music, but rather to the system itself, and what the system was doing with the music.
I'll be forever indebted to B&O, as basically, I've got my music and film back, and I'm free of the religious like cult of the afflicted amateur audiophile.
Its one thing for profesionals like Geoff Martin to obsess about sound, as 1) He's trained to the highest levels to be able to do so, and 2) it's his job.
For someone like me, I just want to enjoy the result, and to leave all the system tuning to audio and acoustic engineers operating at the highest levels.
B&O gives me that, indeed ALL of it, and as long as I'm alive, have the money to afford it, and B&O are in business, I will always be a customer.
Is B&O perfect then?
No, of course not, but in truth I'm the happiest with B&O kit in the 40 odd years I've been involved in this hobby, and by a very large margin.
So yes...lol.. ALL of my B&O kit has been my best HiFi purchase ever.. :-)

My recently acquired BeoVision 9 and BeoLab 9s are the best purchases I have ever made. For some years now, I have been trying to find a TV that would give me an impressive picture across standard definition and high definition broadcasts; one that I could use with Blu-rays and an Apple TV if required, the latter of which I have also added. I wanted to find the 'ultimate' B&O setup (for me) encompassing design, performance and build quality.
I am the happiest I have ever been!
B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.
Store owner - it's got to be BeoLab 5s....and the new Avant!
Bought a BeoSystem6500 when new and regret selling it. Happy with BeoSound3000/BeoLab4000 system but miss my stack system.
BeoCom6000 has stood the test of time and is a fantastic product both visually and operationally.

When I had it, the Avant (gen 1), Beolab 3 Beolab 2 Combination. Everything was built like tanks, indestructible, and made to last. The combination made a statement visually, and even more so when it was turned on.
