Screen burn and declining blue pixel quality would rule it out for me for the present.
Also, I've read that the latest fashion for curved/ concave screens introduces all sorts of reflection problems worse than those experienced with flat screens or the old convex CRT tubes.
BV11 as art on the wall on a motorised hinge is exactly what suits my current requirements.

Depends on your budget I suppose. Not all of us can afford $12,000 AUD and $17-18,000 AUD for an Avant or BV11 respectively. It is serious money. And considering what if you have 3 TV's in your house lol.
Have you seen how sexy that LG OLED is. A member posted a picture of his LG OLED with his BL9's - it does look beautiful, even if it's design isn't as distinctive as B&O, B&O customers are looking for that something extra when it comes to Beovisions.
A whole experience is very important and making everything work together and being easy to use is better than looks.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Hi Chris, does the 7-55 have the same smart TV features? like catch up channels etc?
I hate the look of the lg oled tv with its platic bottom and cheap carbon printed back, Harrods had a better one before they launched this version.
Cant remember the code number for it but it was silver wasn't curved with a speaker integrated in the stand and it looked very sleek for an lg. it was a 55" retailing at £10000 this one however doesn't grab me.
although the blacks look very good on the lg it's the curve and the cheap design that kills it for me.
The bv11 or avant however really are nice and from the demos I've seen of the avant i very much prefer it over the lg all day anytime of the week.
However what one person likes another won't so it really is subjective and also dependant on what you prefer.
Beoplay A2
4 beolab 5, beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2, 2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...
Aussie Michael: Hi Chris, does the 7-55 have the same smart TV features? like catch up channels etc?
Nope, and yes.
I use Sky for catch up and Apple Tv for everything else. When i had an 11, i used the smart features for a total of 10 minutes, which i then decided were completely pointless. Each to their own i guess.
olvisab: Oled is too expensiv to produce and I don't think every manufacturers will take the risk. I learned this morning that if I want to use my rear speakers as stereo speaker combined to my sub in front , I can do it with the avant. That's this kind of details that sometimes could be essential before taking a decision I just need to know now if I can disable the automatic center speaker in order to use a bl7.2 instead and to make this ugly grill disappear.

From what I was reading in Nikei that OLED production is slowing because of the cost and technical implications.
I love that you can assign speakers. This is a great feature, say if you're sitting on the couch and you're an early riser and your partner is not and your 2 rear speakers are more discrete and you want to listen to them quietly you can assign them as stereo.
Have you seen the automatic speaker in the "flesh" or are you just making observations from promo shots? (just out of interest)
Brand new and very interesting test of plasma, OLED and 4K LCD...

Also, Panasonic AND SONY are reported to be in talks with LG to use LG OLED screens for their future OLED TVs!
Thanks for the link Paul, a good read indeed
