I like mine - the natural leather ones - no issues with them.
They have the 'sound' I have been looking for - after having tried some of the boomy current headphones on the market.
You must drive them with a reasonable source - I use a small Headphone amp.
And ---- I guess it depends on which sound you expect.

I have black pair and have no issue with sound quality, personally I feel the sound is better than my Zik's or Sennheiser's. As mentioned in other threads I feel they could have been better, i.e. sound cancelling, wireless etc. or if not wireless an extension lead and yes a tad more bass.
MM is right I am sure the H6's performance varies between genre.
we tend to forget there is more to design than designing.
I have tried H6 headphones and liked the sound. I compared them to my Sennheiser HD600s - they were not quite as good but I was impressed enough to buy some for my godson. They do not have the booming bass encountered on many modern headphones but that is inaccurate in my view and masks the music. However headphones like speakers are very personal choices and you should always listen first.

I often have to have mine of 100% too with a Mini iPad as the source. More bass please chef is the standard criticism all my friends make, including myself. Personally i'm about as interested in the opinions of Audiophiles regarding more bass, as i am in the chefs opinion in a restaurant regarding seasoning or how my steak should be cooked.
Bose and Beats have serviced that desire to differing extents, and prospered accordingly.
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

I agree with you about the sound, and the fact that it's personal preference. I prefer no booming bass but a more natural presentation, and the H6 is great for that. Also, it's the most comfortable headphone I've ever worn, but they are really my wife's. I get by, as I'm not as much a headphone user, with a pair of Form 2s.
We have H6, Form 2, and A8 B&O headphones, quite the collection. The A8s tend to get used on trips, the Form 2s tend to stay in my den/workroom, and the H6 wanders around to wherever my wife is listening.

I'm afraid I'm recovering from the BeoVirus.
Historically, if my memory serves me correctly, B&O headphones had dramatically different impedances from most other headphones and were designed specifically for use with B&O equipment. I assume that current designs are more focussed on use with MP3 players by other manufacturers, but I really have no idea on this point. H6 headphones have an apparent impedance of around 30 ohms. Does that make them ideal for iPhone use etc, Beovision use, or older Beomaster use?
Geoff Martin's website has a nice summary of several reviews.

Thanks for that link - I must have overlooked it.
Seems that a lot of people agree that this is a good headphone.
One thing I enjoy very much is the lightness of the headphone - it is much nicer to wear than I had expected.
The lack of bass on the H6 is due to the French (and I think European) amp limitation of the iPhone. Try it on a BeoSound or a US iPhone and it will sound more plain.
Strange for a European firm, but true.

I was virtually in disbelief when i saw they had collaborated with Pepsi, yuck! Really doesn't do anything for me, was it a mistake? What were they aiming for? Seems a little desperate...

In a nutshell: very positive, clearly less bass than on some of the popular brands' products (Dr Beats and the like), but a winner.

w5bno123: Hi MM Out of interest what headphone amp do you use and how portable is it? I love the H6 but I want to blow up my eardrums as my iPhone is my main source and very underpowered.

Hi Stuart,
it is nothing special - it is a Pro-Ject Headbox, and certainly not portable.
And it wasn't meant to be either, as I mostly use my H6 at home.
I have had that amp for a while to drive my Grado 80i's in a small setup with a CDX - when I was in CD listening mood 💿
Right now I use it for creating a headphone connection on my V1-32 - feeding it with a line-out signal from one of the PL's.
This combo is very much used for music listening. I certainly have enough (more than enough) power that way.
Yesterday I used the H6 with my iPod Touch (my first iDevice ) connected to the headphone-out.
I had the volumen at about 80% of max - sounded pretty well to me. But I am not into 'eardrum blowing', you must know.
Originally it was not my intention to take the H6 with me, but after wearing them (they are lighter and more comfortable than I though) that might change.
If I start looking for a portable amp, I don't know yet.
Might not be worth it - and I'd rather avoid yet another device to carry around.

A great review via google translate. (But google translate hasn't quite mastered the french-english nuances as it has other language translations. You can get the gist of the review but with some wonderfully poetic phrases!)

A neutral headphone allows you to listen to high quality streaming as the original recording was intended. Alternatively you can apply as much bass or treble distortion as you like via a Beomaster or similar with tone controls. A boomy headphone is like having your steak with triple pepper sauce all the time: you can't taste the steak but you sure know what the sauce is like!

Graham Nobody including myself ever said "boomy" Is your television calibrated to THX standards like the movie makers intended(an option on the Beovision 11 I may add), or do you use your own settings? Adaptive! If not, why does this "as the artist intended" only ever apply to audio?

Well I guess I meant extra bass bias when I said boomy, and I was just responding to the chef/food analogy. Would you buy a television with some odd colour bias already built-in that you could not remove through recalibration? Would you want to listen to classical music with a headphone with extra bass that you couldn't adjust?
To continue with the food analogy, what's wrong with applying your own condiments? The exception that proves the rule; try ostrich with and without triple pepper sauce. In that particular case the chef applied sauce is essential because there's no flavour whatsoever in the meat!
As I've just posted in the 'We the Best' thread I've taken delivery of these same blue H6's and they are really superb. Comfortable. Full bass. More bass if you apply it through an amp with tone controls. The Olive One supplies more than enough output to drive these headphones. As does an iPad.

I doubt they're for me, I want brash, loud (in both senses of the word), boom & fizz, and primary colours so that people on the bus will notice how they look, hear how loud they spill and guess how expensive they were!
Although I do think that they're available with nonsensical large text on the headband is an absolute bonus!
Ban boring signatures!
I've been hoping they'd broaden the number of companies they do this with. I've never been a Pepsi guy, but now if they come up with a RC Cola and Moonpie edition, I'm there!

Just get yourself that discrete iPhone and earbuds set you've always craved Puncher.
Thankfully there's no text on the headband and the Pepsi logo is so small it might as well not be there.

Yes, but it also needs to be a limited edition linked to something irrelevant and short lived like the football World Cup so that the surplus get dumped at a silly price after the event.
As indicated in the reply to Puncher, the Pepsi logo is so small that it might as well not be there,..... but it is quite significant on the Play box exterior, which is where B&O have blundered.
Just bought a pair of blue Pepsi H6 phones for £179 on eBay, and as others have noted the Pepsi logo is very discreet. In fact, to be honest I didn't even realise that was what it was!
I'm very pleased with them, especially at that price, which included postage.
Congratulations! The price you paid for it justifies the quality/sound of this headphone. I paid 340 euro for it few months ago incl.10% discount. It's a bloody rip off, shame on you B&O!
Brengen & Ophalen
Well, do they sound any different if bought at £179 rather than €329/340/399?
Would they be the best headphones ever made if sold at £1, and the worst if sold at £1000?
What is really disappointing is that B&O have followed the world wide trend of outsourcing production to China (or other low labour cost area) at presumably very low cost so as to maintain a good profit margin in Denmark. Basically, middle management, including the designers, have preserved their own jobs in the short term by putting the assembly workers out of business in Denmark. But in the longer term those design and middle management jobs are vulnerable too.
Would people be willing to pay more if they knew something was completely designed and built in Denmark/Europe/ UK?

I guess that the answer re quality is to always try things out yourself rather than rely on secondhand opinions, even on Beoworld, or, for that matter, a manufacturers reputation.
Even when quality is high, most things I buy seem to be stamped 'Designed in --------- , Made in China."
The crowd funded Olive One was widely advertised as being made in the US before it actually appeared with a 'Made in Taiwan, Designed in San Francisco' label. The only people who have gained from this short sighted manufacturing approach are banks and shareholders.
Anyway, price aside, I personally think that the H6 does a very adequate job with my particular audio set-ups.

BeoGreg: One concern left, the ear buds get off very easily when I touch the headphones. I will ask my dealer if I can ad some kind of glue so that they won't move untill I really whant to.
Mark:after this thread I've started to be more aware of people wearing over ear headphones and I'm surprised; and this is not a sexist comment, how many women wear this style of headphone.
Again, not trying to be sexist, but you'd think they wouldn't as it'd mess up their hair, which I know many women spend what we men think of as inordinate amounts of time on. A guy with shorter hair, no issue, but a longer or more styled "do" would seem to favor ear buds.
