Could the Moment be connected to a BeoMaster 5 ?
The idea would be to use the Moment like a BeoSound 5 but with more flexibility.
Connections could be powerline for exemple...
'Powerline' is ethernet - routet over the 'house power net'.
The BM/BS5 needs a ML connection for networking with older components - and a NL/ML Converter to integrate with the newer....
...unless they decide for some heavy software updates for the BM5 (which imo is not likely to come).
But - of course - you can access the DLNA server/the music in the BM5 through the BS Moment....
...if that is, what you mean with 'flexibility'.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
In the past when one purchased a complete system, it included a music system like a beosound and a Beovision. I am planning on purchasing a Beovision Avant 75. It seems to me that with a new Avant, the music system is included in the TV and there is no need for anything else except for the speakers. Thats fine with me but it has not exactly been explained that way by my dealer. Maybe I am the only long time buyer of Bang and Olufsen products who didn't seem to get the idea that a television is also a music system, So for me, "Moment" is not an option. I already have an Oppo Blu-ray player, a MacPro that is 4k capable and an Amazon Fire HD. It sounds to me that I have planned a complete music system and television. Am I correct or does Moment add something I have forgotten.
My wife thinks this is a great idea because I can sell a Beocenter 2 which I don't think she really likes.

No, you are certainly not the only (long time) buyer of B&O products, that 'noticed' this.
I have said it several times.
If I were to start from scratch with B&O, there would be no seperate audiosystem present!
Just like you, I would have enough 'audio' with an Avant - with the additional components, that you listed (I had mentioned the ATV/iPad, though). *
If I were 'in charge', I would have developed/presented a couple of 'NL Link-products' (with or without inbuilt speakers) by now - a new audiosystem (BS Moment) would have had to wait a while.
On the other hand - I see the need for a (seperate) audiosystem, in case people want a B&O solution (including the 'NL Link products') for audio only.
Some people want it so, others different!
In the end the guys in Struer decided for the (seperate) audiosystem - and I am still eager to learn, what/how it will be and if it will add something for an Avant owner.
And I am looking forward to learn, what the further above mentioned 'multi room capacity' (coming with an update April 2015) will bring!
* In fact I see the Avant more like an audiosystem with a big screen and some (of course very) useable features added.
Yes, i'd like to have the Moment station near my couch in the lounge, pick up the tablet, choose a song in the BeoMaster 5 located in the dining room, and let MOTS begin.
The speakers could be connected with wires to the BV10, or alone in the lounge with a transmiter.
That is exactly why I wrote:
'some like it so - others different'.
But with a (not yet existing) NL link-product (or another NL tv) it should be possible to use Spotify (if allowed by Spotify) - that is the 'nature' of sharing sources in a NL network.

I guess the Moment will give you a way much better user experience. Searching for artists or albums in a huge library or Deezer are things you don't really want to do on a TV.

1: that is what I am used to (inclusive NetRadio) - with the iPeng 8 iPad app/the LMS server on my NAS through a Squeezebox connected via spdif to my V1.
2: i'll hope, that the Moment will give me an even better user experience.

BeoNut since '75
elephant:We're all using all sorts of different combinations of software and devices. Life must be very difficult for the engineers and designers in Struer. Last night purely by mistake I accidentally discovered this combination (I had forgotten how Spotify connect actually works); iPad mini -> Spotify connect -> Spotify -> MacMini ?? iTunes activated AirPlay ?? Apple TV -> BV 8-40 (music Centre, lol) The Essence of B&O is discretion in design and life
Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.
Chris Townsend:I use->iPad mini->Tidal->Apple TV->Beovision 7-55 in screen mute-> Beolab 7-6/8000's
That's exactly the same combination I am using, just with a different beovision. Did you find a way to program the Beo4 or the BR One to go directly into screen mute mode. I don't like the extra step of turning on my beovision and then going into screen mute. Ideally, I have one button to turn on "screen mute" and another button to turn on my normal BV (with screen). It used to work with A.DVD, but unfortunately my Mini is mapped to DTV and there is no A.DTV. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
I like the B&O "all-in-one" concept for the video products : AV9000, Avant, BeoCenter 1, BV7,...
But i like a separate device for the audio, especially good looking product with fine material : Beogram, BS3000, BS9000, BS5. These are products that can be touch and feel, not only activated by a remote or a smartphone.
I think the Moment could have a great mix of the 3 worlds : design, convenience, integration
They will only succeed, if they can make it better!
One of the 'better things' would be not having to turn on the tv (or the traditional BeoSound) seperately with the beo remote - this must happen within the Beo control app/the interface of the Moment..
And (vice versa) the main functions must be accessable from the Beo remote without having to go to the panel of the Moment.
That would be real progress....
....and for me a reason for changing horses.
P.S. and of course the device must be 'good looking', must be nice to live wth, as we are used to from the B&O devices in general.

I am surprised you are saying that since you seem to live in a household with at least two adults. With your proposed solution you can either watch TV or listen to music at one time but not both simultaneously. Your wife will not be able to listen to the music while you may want to watch TV (with a headset) and v.v. This is very limiting, specially in an open plan house.
Of course, that does not apply if you have a second Avant 75 in another room in the house that you can divert to :-)
.....or one of the from me proposed NL linkproducts - or even a V1 (with or without additional speakers).
Can't wait until B&O's first press conference @ CES.
Scheduled for Jan 6th 10.30 AM, that's 19.30 CET and 18.30 in the UK.

I completely agree with you. When you own a modern BeoVision I see no use for a separate music system. I never regretted selling my BeoSound, especially since at the end I was only using it as a pass through for first my PlayMaker and later my Sonos Connect.
BeoVision 11-55, BeoLab 8000, BeoRemote One BT, AppleTV 4, 2x BeoPlay A2, BeoPlay A1
Sorry if the question is stupid... ...but, wouldn't that mean that you have to switch on your tv even if you only want to listen to some music?
If so, is the screen on? Or modern Beovisions have some kind of a "sound only" mode?
Many thanks!
Yes that is correct. When you operate the system the screen is on. When you have made your choices and put the remote aside the screen will mute after a few minutes and you will only see a green indicator showing the tv is on. When you reach for the Beo6 the screen automatically turns on again, even without pushing any buttons, which is very nice. (I do however believe this is only with Beo6 and not with other remotes)
Chris Townsend:There is a "picture mute" setting, although I get the feeling that the TV is still running just not sending a pic or illuminating the LEDs etc.
Did you succeed to start directly into "picture mute"? I currently turn on my BV first (pressing DTV that my Mac is connected to) and then I need to go to "picture mute". I would love to find a way to go directly into "DTV-picture mute". Any ideas how this can accomplished? Thanks!

If you choose your source via LIST because there is no hardkey available, you have to select the special 'A'-command (e.g. A-VAUX). But this will NOT work with BSys4-based BVs (Avant/BV 11). Hope this helps. Regards Räuber

Thanks Raeuber for your quick reply. Unfortunately, the suggest way does not work as AV cannot be combined with DTV. It works with DVD (i.e., A.DVD), but unfortunately there is no A.DTV. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance!!!

Hiort:I will be at CES in business. Trying to get an invite to the one of the press conference through my dealer. I assume it's by invitation only. Has anyone else any idea on how to be invited? Happy owner of: BV11 46", NL/ML Converter, 2 x Beocom 2, Beocom 6000, Beocenter 2, Beolab 3, Beolab 2000, Beo4, Beolab 11, Playmaker, Beolab 3500, 2 x Beolit 12

i have no problems in finding AV from the list before choosing DTV on my Beo4.
Raeuber:you cannot find A-DTV under LIST because DTV is a hardkey on Beo4. You have to press LIST until AV appears on display and then press DTV. So your Beovision will switch on in audio mode without screen.
Got it, this should work. So, instead of programming this as a new key, I can just select "List AV" and then hit "DTV". Let me try when I get back home.
Any idea whether I could program A.DTV on one of the "my" keys on a BR One?
