Does anyone know which older TVs can make use of the Beo4 Navi button - I am specifically interested in BV10-32/40 and/or BV7-32. I wondered if there was a SW update.
I do of course realise that the Beo4 navi can be used in Mode 2 with any older B&O TV, but having picked up a cheap remote I am keen to make use of the new button!
Does anyone else buy a remote first and then chose a TV to suit????

Thanks! Anyone know if it's just the later (post 2011) models that are navi compliant? When I looked at the BV10-32 instructions on the B&O site the navi was only mentioned in the instructions for later variants.

Seven years later and I have just got hold of a BV10-32 - my first Beo4 Navi compatible TV!!
Anyway, I just changed the setting in the TV menu and tried the navi remote, but I really can't see any advantage. The central navi button is a bit fiddly to use, and the locations of the PLAY, BACK and especially LIST buttons are not intuitive. This is especially a problem when the other Beo4s around the house are non-Navis!
So am I missing something - can anyone tell me why I should stick with a navi remote?
As an aside, I understand MODE 1 and 2, but what is MODE 3 on the Beo4 Navi?

But am still struggling to understand the 'added value' of the navi button!!
Obviously you are (only) used to the older Beo4 layout.
I can only say, that all my Beo4’s are with Navi (have been for years) - and that I would not want to have to go back to a non-navi remote.
As the name says, the Navi button is for navigation (in menus).
It allows for a more fluid navigation especially when you use a UI like that of the ATV (or other mediaplayers with tiles) - and you can fast forward more precisely, when watching movies or Youtube content.
For me the Stop/Play buttons are right where they belong and also the Back button ( = intuitive).
The List button is a bit offset from this navigation part, because it is used in another context.
And what would you need a Text button for nowadays (that one has gone to the List….should you need it).
Apart from all this - depending on the SW of the remote - you have other options in the List menu with the newer navi version.
So depending on what you need to do, the Navi version might be better (once you get used to it).
For some things, the Go version (of which there are many versions too….remember the one with an A/V button!) - in other situations the Navi will be best.
The Beo4 has evolved over the years and has adapted/has been changed to fit the needs of the new devices, that came over the years/new external (PUC-controlled) devices.
If you have a BV10 and use the TV tuner (and maybe a DVD player and an old school masterlinked audiosystem) the Go versions should be fine.
In the end it is up to you - with the BV10 you have the choice between both versions.
P.S. I/we never had any issues with the navi buttons (like some people like to say) - it still works as supposed.

I have a Beovision 7-40 mk5, this has in the menu a choice between with or without navi button, I use it with a Beo 4 mk4 Navi and it works perfect, I think it also works with a mk6 (led version of the 7-40)

Reading through your points, it does seem like I need to give the navi remote a little more time before passing judgement. I am using the BV10's built in TV tuner (DVB-T2 in UK) and the only STB connected is an Apple TV HD, using the TV's STB for 'Apple Remote' (about which I may ask more questions later in another thread!)
As you say, I think that the TV's Programme Guide (matrix) and the Apple TV's tiled apps are probably best explored using the navi button, so I will persevere a little longer and see how I get on. My wife tends to watch Netflix (on ATV) so I will see how she likes the FF/RW feel of the new button, and of course the PLAY, STOP layout - I suspect that the final decision may well be with her!
I will probably come back with more feedback once I have experimented a bit further.
^^ Thanks Ken - yes it does seem that many users are happy with the navi remote with a variety of B&O TVs, and I just need to get used to it so that I appreciate its advantages!
Update: I have decided to stick with the 'non-navi' Beo4 remote. I just don't like the vague feel of the navi button itself. Also, I prefer LIST to be lower down on the remote (I use STAND often) and I prefer TEXT to be lower (BTW TEXT moves to the RECORD position on the navi remote, not to LIST; RECORD then goes to LIST).
TEXT is useful in UK because the BBC still provide interactive features which can be accessed by either the Red Button or TEXT, but I then need TEXT to exit, as shown below.
But I will hang on to the navi remote in case I change my mind with my next TV

Well, that is how little ( = never) I use the TEXT button - I had to take a look at my remotes to see, that you are right.

These features are probably different (when I look at your pic) than, what the danish and german channels I use, offers. These are more like a website here.

I can enter the 'Red Button Text' service by pressing either RED or TEXT, but strangely (as it says on the screen) I have to exit by using TEXT.
As I found out with my BC6-26, the menu (and hence Beo4 buttons) for use of the digital tuner changes significantly if you change the country in the digital tuner's SETUP menu. I had to set my BC6 to somewhere other that UK to get it working as I wanted! I haven't yet experimented with different country settings on my BV10.
In UK the BBC keep threatening to get rid of the Red Button Text (but not video) service but concerns have been raised and they postponed the cancellation: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-54360998
To be honest, I find the Red Button Text service most useful for choosing games/matches during event like Wimbledon or snooker. It's actually quite effective for a 'non-internet-connected' TV. If the service stops then I will just have to fire up the Apple TV more often.
