Hi everybody,
I have a pair of Penta´s in my living room.
I would like to add a subwoofer.
Is my only option the Beoab 2, or will a Beolab 11 add some extra punch to my setup?
My dealer is offering me a demo-used Beolab 11 for my Beogram 9500 and My Beogram 6500 with a MMC2.
Is this a good or bad offer?
"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"
4 beolab 5, beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2, 2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...
I am planning on using it for both music and movies.
I have another pair of Penta´s that I had as rear speakers for movies, but I removed them as there is almost no bass reproduction from the back. I put a pair of Beolab 4000 in the rear instead.
My only consideration is that with the Penta´s in the front, there are already 8 x 5" woofers. Will the 2 x 6,5" in the Beolab 11 really make a difference? I know that they are in a closed box, and that the pent´s have reflex tubes, but still..
olvisab:Hi The deal seems to be good. However I really wonder if the bl11 is powerfull enough for adding extra Bass with a pair of penta. If your pentas works perfectly, I don't think it worth to choose a bl11 Do you plan to use them for surround sound and movies ? beosound 5/BM5 , beosystème 4500 , beolab 1, beolab 5000, beolab 14, beolab 3500, beovision av 9000, IWS 2000, beotime, MLGW
I would be surprised if the bl11 made any difference to pentas, but do try before you buy/swop.
I´ll ask my dealer if I can try it.
Doubt he will let me try it home, he knows I am getting my B&O the cheapest possible way.
Anyone using Beolab 2 with their pent´s?

I had just that. Beolab 2 with Pentalab 2's. there was a marked bass increase but I really don't like subs at all so it didn't last long with me. If you like loads of boomy bass for movies it could work but for music it was just too much. A Beolab 11 will be useless.
Has anyone tried to combine the Pentas with a cona subwoofer?
I have. It doesn’t do anything good.
I use Penta3s/ BL4000s with a Beolab 2 - wonderful with the TV (Avant CRT DVD) but not so good with music. So I use my other system in the room to play music - Beogram 4000, Beomaster 4401 and M100s.
