Hi all,

Does anyone have an idea how to open the base (charger) station of a beocom 2? Thought the battery was done for, so replaced it with a new set, but still it isn't charging, cleaned the contacts on both phone and charger to no avail and checked the voltage and current the base gives... 0, nothing, none what so ever, so guess I have to figure a way out to open the charger base... any takers? thanks.

Hi Patrick,

Special tool to do it. Check PSU and the cable first, then try to open it.

Check the current from the power supply before opening the base.

The plastic from the cover slowly softens and is very sticky. Awful to look at and

impossible to touch. Technically the cgarger works fine.

What special tool do I need? I shortly try a nutcracker :-)

You can use 3 small flat screwdrivers, stick them to the bottom holes ( underneath the label ) and slowly try to pull the bottom plate off.

The three screwdrivers did the job! Thank you for this helpful suggestion.

After having the baseplate off, the rest of the charger is easy to dismantle. You need 2 torn screwdrivers to get the heavy metal plate and the small base with the magnet and the DC pins out of the cover.

What will you use instead of the sticky cover that you have removed?

I used the original part from B&O. My local dealer ordered it for me. The electronics and all other parts fit smoothly only into the original cover.

Hi! My charger is also falling apart. Did you fix your? I think the material of the charger had only a 15 year life? Any replacement possible? Also the joystick fall apart, when I was trying to sell it!
