I bought a new BV7-40 that will be delivered soon, but I have the following dilema.

Actually, I own a BM7000 connected to a pair of BL4000 and a BL11 that pilot my BS5 Encore and a pair of beovox in the kitchen.

Should I connect the speakers (the beolab only of course) to the BV7 and then the TV to the BM7000 via the MCL-ML classic converter box, or should I Connect the speakers to the BM7000 as it is today and connect the TV to the BM7000 ?

I still need the BM7000 for the Encore.

I suppose the beovision will handle the sound quite better, and that first solution should be preferred . Thanks for your advices

Hi Eric,

I think you should leave the Encore and BeoVoxes attached to the BM-7000 as they are right now.  You will need a New BeoLink Converter to connect the BV-7 and the BM-7000, and then move the BeoLabs over to the BV-7.  The only real issue may be that your Encore is using the input that the Converter wants, so some switching around may be required.  In addition in this set-up I don't think you'll be able to get TV sound in the Kitchen. Are you using an MCL kit, or are they just hooked to Speaker 2?

No problem for the BM7000 inputs, the Encore use the tape1, and the AUX is free.

I don't want TV sound in the kitchen, but I want music from the Encore in the kitchen.

The beovox are directly connected to speaker 2.

I hope all this will work together

Thanks for your reply

Why not assign the Encore to A.TAPE and CD? Connect the Powerlink output to both (A.TAPE1 - CD) inputs of your BM7000.

Now you can activate all devices with one button - Encore (control)- BM7000 (activating the input) - BV7 (activating in audiomode and powering up the Beolabs)

I`d also recommend to use an MCL kit for the kitchen. This will give you a separate volume control (using the BM7000 amp) and also sound from TV (and all connected video sources) if you set the MCL kit to L.OPT 2.

Connect the BL converter with a 7pin AUDIO AUX LINK cable and a Powerlink cable to the BM7000. It needs the start up signal when controlled via the BV7.

Set the options to V.OPT 2, A.OPT 0 and BS5 A.OPT 1 - MCL (if present) L.OPT 2.

Hope this helps.

What type of cable are you using to connect the 8 pin powerlink on the Encore to the 7 pin TAPE1 input on the BM7000?

Geoff

Just have a look here,

http://archivedarchivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/40096.aspx

My dealer built the cable, and it works fine, the only issue is that I have to first turn the BS5 on via LINK-CD on the beo4, and then power on the BM7000 via A.MEM.

I do not have a solution for that point.

Eric,

why not reconfigure your system as described above?

You can split the Powerlink signal to two inputs (CD - A.MEM). Ths way, you don`t have to press three buttons to activate your Encore.

You will find all information you need on the Beotech site - wiring diagrams.

You need two 5 pin DIN plugs and a two-wire (stereo) cable.

PIN 2 is GND, PIN 3 left audio, PIN 5 right audio.

Hope this helps

Stefan
