Hi everyone,

Are there any devices on the market to connect an iPad via Bluetooth to the aux in on a BC9300? Would like this feature for Spotify rather than using the earphone output on the iPad.

Does anyone have a similar set up they can recommend  and what is the quality of the signal compared to wired output?

Thanks,

Graeme.

Yes. Just buy a Bluetooth adapter with a line out and feed the line to aux input. Sound quality will be lower.

Or use an Airport Express and connect via your wifi network.

And for better audio-quality, get a Playmaker Smile

If it is just for Spotify, get a Gramofon.

This device has support for Spotify Connect.

How is the quality of the DAC in the Gramofon?

Having made no A/B tests, I really can't tell you.

Sounded not bad, when I tested it at home.

My son has the device now - he is quite satisfied with it.

Will do for most people - and the SQ certainly is miles above that from a Bluetooth device.

But, after all - what quality would you expect from a device in that price range?

If I would have a non-Apple smartphone or tablet I would use Bluetooth with this small item:

http://www.amazon.de/Philips-AEA2700-12-Multipair-Empfänger-Bluetooth/dp/B00KMS7HFG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1421364785&sr=8-3&keywords=Philips+bluetooth

You can connect it to AUX-IN of most Beosounds or digital to S/PDIF of many Beovisions. I assume that sound quality will be very good because it supports aptx standard. But Apple still doesn't support aptx it is better to use Airplay together with a Playmaker or Airport Express if you are a proud owner of an IDevice.

Hi everyone.

Really like the sound of the Gramofon. Spotify in a box effectively,  so thanks for the recommendation Millemissen. Don't think my finances will stretch to a playmaker, and never really liked the look of it anyway.

Thanks again,

Graeme.

Glad to have helped!

The Playmaker is a much more versatile device - and with a higher SQ.

Using it to feed a BeoMaster you can hide it away - if you don't like the looks of it.

But - really - if you just need a device for Spotify (Connect) the Gramofon is absolutely fine.

And it is cheaper - of course.

The airport express isn't very good sound quality wise.

If you want to keep the B&O product line the playmaker would be a great option.

Too long to list....
