Hello,

Decided to get to the bottom of a problem with an old 'E-Bay' purchase - perhaps someone can assist.

MCP 5500 seems to work fine - can audibly hear the Mute Relay cycle.

No audio output from RH speaker (either 1 or 2) when using Tape2/Aux RCA Jacks - However, both L & R channels work with Radio - no other hook-ups available for testing.

Using headphone jack yields the same results - radio 'yes' - TP2 - NO

So, it would seem the problem is with the RH Tape2 Input (or somewhere after that).

Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks,

Rob

Welcome to Beoworld !

Pull the mains plug and take off the bottom plate.
Resolder the joints at the RCA sockets and the long row of joints where the vertical (DIN-) connector bay board meets
the preamp board (that's right in front of the RCA sockets).
If you use a type of solder with a small amount of silver in it, the joints will not crack easily again.
Cracked solder joints in this area is a known problem in this model.

Thanks for the Welcome, Martin!

Will check it out, and get back to everyone on how it worked.

Best regards,

Rob
