Must say that the lastest update has improved the experience for me significantly.
Much quicker start of playing songs from my NAS when I select "music" or do the selection from the Jukebox.
Patternplay easier to start than before (click sound is back)
Had to do a complete factory reset though, to get everything in good order after the upgrade. Had to do with the Twonky synchronization I think.

I'm agree, the latest software is a huge improvement. Finally the Moment has been becoming firm as a rock in my setup... but I still hold on solid wood for my assertion.
I even did some maintenance on my network and ... forget to power off my Moment. You can imagine that I was terrified to start the Moment after this, but no problem every album and playlist was showing again in all the glory. Just once not, in changing a Vlan on the network. A reset with the pin on the Jukebox brought up everything again. I can now even set my Mac mini music server in sleep mode at night, before the latest update it was necessary to have it 24/24 on.
Well done job B&O R&D team, may we expect another update as a gift before Christmas? Please, please... Santa, place a button for Random play on the Beomusic App and give us Deezer Elite.

I have. No problems with Beoportal for me.
Hiort:I have. No problems with Beoportal for me.
I did a factory reset as well and no problems with BeoPortal
I do have a persistent problem that has been there since the beginning.
When adding music (either on DLNA server or with Deezer) it can take up to 3 days for the artist art / picture to appear.
In some cases it does not appear at all on the Jukebox.
Album art is always fetched instantaneously on the Jukebox.
Artist art / picture is always shown on my iPhones Beomusic app (almost) immediately.
Anyone else has the same problem? Anyone knows a solution?
Peter

Hi PeterBOBP, hi mbolo01,
I added 5 days ago Adele "25" to my music-collection on my Twonky-macmini (DLNA). Afterwards, I forced the Twonky-Server to do a rescan (usually automatic rescan is switched off), then I switched on the Moment and "checked for new content" and 5 minutes later Adele's "25" was playing on the Moment. When I add music to Deezer, it appears usually on the same day. I think this depends, how B&O programmed the refreshing of the Deezer-Content. Some informations about the cycle/timetable (hours/minutes) would be useful. If you add a whole bunch of music, it will take a while, because the Moment will process the mood, genre and artist-tiles in the background. This will take some time. When I can't wait, I use to log-out from Deezer in the Moment-content-settings and after a while I log-in again. But be aware, depending on the Deezer-Collection, the Moment will start a refreshing process after the log-out/in ("Your collection is now being processed")
What kind of Server do you use. Maybe a restart/rescan would help too.
Cheers Beroli
Beroli:What kind of Server do you use. Maybe a restart/rescan would help too.
Did you try to put the refresh setting to -1?
I have also a qnap and it works perfect on the beosound 5
mbolo01: Beroli: What kind of Server do you use. Maybe a restart/rescan would help too. I'm using QNAP with Twonky. Last week I added 3 albums with avg 12 tracks each. I tried to speed the refresh content but the Moment refused it displaying the Network Overloaded - could not complete operation message. I search for the albums leveraging the BeoMusic app, found them but with just 4 or 5 tracks in it. I waited a couple of day more, tried a refresh or a rebuild without success, so I decided to do a reset factory knowing that I may face the BeoPortal step issue. 4 days after the reset my NAS library was still not digested so did a new factory reset this morning .... with again the BeoPortal issue On the positive side, I have seen some improvements with the latest upgrade and I'm convincing myself that I may have disrupted the mood analysis process by playing with my NAS at the same time

If that happens again, rather than factory reset everything, try simply powering down the Soundheart for 10-20 mintues, then when you power the Soundheart back on reboot the Jukebox via pin hole reset. Everything should sync back up and force a new look for content. It would also help if you could reboot the QNap while waiting on the time frame for the Soundheart to be powered back on.
Ah, you know... A little B&O here, a little there

That sounds good will try try the rescan option on Twonky (I use Twonky / Mac mini combi) and see if this works for me as well

When I add music the album almost appear straightaway; new artist pictures take a very very long time, in some cases they do not show at all. I tried to log out / log in with Deezer but that did not fix it / did not help.
Could it be the Moment is still processing my albums (900 albums on Deezer) on the background? It does not seem to be finished with that since my last Deezer log out . For example: when I randomly play albums / songs from an artist that is in my Deezer collection, the white dot of the songs in some cases appear in the outer ring; this is not correct as the white dot should be in the inner ring as it is part of my collection. So it does not seem to be finished yet with the processing. Or is this a characteristic of the random function? (note: the message "Your collection is now being processed" is not shown)
Will also try BeoMegaman's suggestion to power down and reboot everything.
Thanks!
Hi mbolo01,
I know, you are a network-specialist. So please, don't be angry, if I think you must have a issue with your network. ๐ค I was confident like you, that nothing is wrong with my setup. Later I recognized, that the Moment is very picky, when it comes to a stable network.
I would try these ways for a solution.
Ping the devices in your network. Make sure, that you will have no drop-outs or package losses, from the place where your Moment is installed. A perfect tool, to determine/examine your whole Network for your iPhone is FLING. Write down the ip from the Jukebox (Vendor: Universal Global Scientific Industrial) and the Soundheart (Vendor: Texas Instruments).
In the past, I faced issues with the processing, because of the Twonky-Server-settings.
Have a look in the settings of the devices in your Twonky-Server. Both Devices (Jukebox and Soundheart) should be allowed to access the Twonky-Server. Booth should be set to Bang&Olufsen and mobile device. In my experience, if the Jukebox is blocked or configurated in a different way than the soundheart, the Moment will show sign of trouble/ lagging, connection errors, content issues. Your whole experience will be very slow if just the soundheart is allowed to access the server. The same goes for the firewall-settings in the qnap-setup. Sometimes a old switch or router can cause troubles with the Moment. Try a different switch/ or ethernet-cable - even if you are pretty sure, that your network is not the cause of your issues with the Moment.
Connection errors to the Beoportal can be caused by maintenance of the Beoportal or a broken/faulty WIFI-connection: I don't think/ hope ๐ฑ, that B&O is doing maintenance work on the Portal for several weeks now. So let assume, it's a wifi issue. WIFI is needed for the communication between the Soundheart and the Jukebox. May I ask you: How many reception bars do you see behind the "Wireless quality on Jukebox" if you lift the back plate to enter the Moment settings under "About", "Usage data", "Wireless network"?
Your Wifi SSID should have no special characters (like &). B&O explicitly decided against special character to avoid support troubles with all the possible keyboard-configurations all over the world.
Important: Use a wifi scanner to determine the best stable channel of your WIFI network. Sometimes a neighbor bought a new "disturbing"-device and out of the sudden, your Wifi is affected. The better your Wifi, the better and faster is your Moment experience.
Again, don't be angry, if you think I am telling you, known facts - but even we nerds are tending to overlook some things ๐๐ค

I did a lot of installation procedures with the Twonky-Server in the past. Sometimes the Twonky-Database is messed up and will not add some files/tracks anymore. Do other mediaplayers (e.g. for iOS) are showing the missing tracks, when you connect to the Twonky-Server? When you type in the Twonky-Server adress in your browser, are all your files visible in there? If not, you will not like it - try to erase the Twonky-Database, reset Twonky and start the whole setup/processing in Twonky again, before the next factory-reset of the Moment.
Cheers
And thank you for explaining your network, I know most of the time I sound like "Have you tried to turn it off and on again?" ๐

I didn't try checking the content leveraging another media player nor directly at the Twonky web interface as I never had the issue before, what I can tell is that after the Moment factory tree I was able to see and play full album content from the BeoMusic app. One point I didn't mention previously: I'm adding tracks via iTunes. My iTunes library is located on the NAS and I have configured Twonky to look for music only in the iTunes media directory. Twonky refresh is set to -1 and so far it never failed to promptly update itself at each new track addition. That said I'll add the third party mediaplayer check in my next issues diagnostics. Merci

If the moment is checking the Twonky-Server exactly on the time, while he is refreshing his collection, you will loose content for sure. -1 enables the server to watch content folders automatically for new content without the need for rescans. When you follow the track-counting on the twonky-server while he is refreshing you will see, what I mean. Let's assume the track-count during the refreshing on the Twonky-Server is at 10k from your 30k-overall Tracks and the Moment "decides" to do checkup on the DLNA-Server. What will happen, when 20k track are "missing" for the Moment. Exactly, the Moment will "assume" they are gone and will delete them from the Moment-Database. - until the next checkup. Since we all don't know in which timeframes and rythm the refreshing from booth databases will be done/started, I recommend you switch the Twonky-refreshing off (0) and start it manually, when you know, that you added something and your Moment is of-duty.
I know, some of he Moment-owners are still on -1, but I would bet, they allready miss some tracks on their Moment. We all know, that the Moment is showing messages like " unable to play track" under "About", when you lift the backplate. This happens when tracks are missing or Deezer "greyed" some songs. The Moment is great in recognizing missing tracks and not so good in adding new content without being "forced" To avoid this with my own content, I switched the Twonky- refreshing off. Since then, I had always the same amount of tracks on booth ends and no missing tracks anymore.
…Last week I added 3 albums with avg 12 tracks each. I tried to speed the refresh content but the Moment refused it displaying the Network Overloaded - could not complete operation message…
I saw this phenomenon many times, scratching my head and nerving myself because there was so little traffic on my network. I was groping in the dark about the real cause. There was no immediate solution to remove this message, doing a restart from my Mac mini music server, putting the Moment in to standby and restart it… the Message keeps appearing. Only powering on-off the Moment let it renew the fixed address, did the message disappearing and refreshing the content as it should.
My only conclusion to this phenomenon, it must be an IP conflict. IP conflicts tend to eventually work themselves out in DHCP environments because systems issue repeated requests for valid addresses. But since the process can take a while and doesn't always work as planned, one way to hasten a fix is by manually entering ifconfig and ipconfig/renew from a command prompt, unfortunately you can’t do this from within the Moment. Restarting a system accomplishes the same thing but takes a lot longer, and thats exactly the only way to accomplish a IP address renewal with the Moment.
How Finding and Fixing the Culprit? In my case there was little to find on my switches, they where not managed and only able to perform basic network functions, a direct replacement did not brought a solution. So I had to look at my router, understanding that a routers function is to create or maintain a table of the available routes and their conditions and use this information along with distance and cost algorithms to determine the best route for a given packet.
Before I bought the Moment I had a fairly large DHCP pool with only a few static addresses for my servers and printer, and never had a problem occurring. I enlarged this scope of static and DHCP pool IP addresses after the I bought the Moment on this router. Could it be that this makes the router less reliable and I now experience chronic IP conflicts with no apparent cause? I was already running the latest firmware, and re-flashing the router with the same firmware did not make its DHCP server more reliable.
I bought a new router in replacing the old one. Gone are the messages. I can now even set my Mac mini music server in to hibernate mode at night and let it wake-up again in the morning. But take some caution here, give it an ½ hour to wake-up before you actually need the Moment, otherwise there will be huge problems in finding your music, playlist and even TuneIn listening gives you problems. If it does occur you havent give it enough time between the server wake-up and activating the Moment, a 15 seconds pin reset of the Jukebox does the trick. The Moment and Twonky server now running for the first time faultless for 26 days after the latest software update and factory reset I did.

Exactly, this is the best way for Twonky in cooperation with the Moment. I have it on a refreshing rate every 1440 minutes and removed the NIC checkmark. All with good results.
I think I'll use the network analyzer weapon to understand SoundHeart and JukeBox network life, this is the only way to capture what B&O will never say to us and to save the time we all spend trying different combinations and thinking we have THE solution while it is pure contextual coincidence.
Good example: As my Moment had not completed the track analysis 4 days after the factory reset (I had DLNA + TuneIn configured only, MoodWheel was not active, no check mark next to the library processing blabla, tracks and albums were available from the BeoMusic app in a ususal time), I decided to do another factory reset.
The BeoPortal step took the number of hours it needed to complete and then I configured TuneIn and Deezer that time, no DLNA. I let the Moment digest the few Album and favorite artists I have in Deezer up to the point I get the MoodWheel active and the check mark in place.
I then added the DLNA content, check mark came quite fast (surprisingly), MoodWheel staid up and running and it took the usual time to have all albums and tracks available to the BeoMusic app
Now it will take many days to the MoodWheel to build the track sequences behind each of the 99 points of the 3 circles.
So the difference between the two experiences is Deezer being configured prior to DLNA .... but guess what? In the past I had configured DLNA only and it worked perfectly in an expected timeframe.
Btw you'll notice that the process treats the tracks by title and in alphabetical order ..... in the first hours all proposed tracks start with numbers, special chars or A B C, after several days you start to see a more balanced mix of the first letter of track titles. You'll notcie also at the begining that the same tracks are repeated many time.
I just need a network tap device or a legacy hub so I can plug my WireShark in!
Hi Chris, hi mbolo01,
I agree, we are all grasping on straws, when it comes to THE-one-and-only-solution, how the working environment for the BS Moment should look like. Therefore it would be very interesting what mbolo01 will find out.. Sometimes I am getting so tired in guessing. ๐ We try to bend our setup around the Moment. I had the same experience about a never ending processing - in one case, I stopped the processing after 78 hour after a factory reset. I have tried the same ways (Deezer only - then DLNA), butI could not figure out, the resons, why it took so many hours in the first place, while a secend attempt was finished in less the 12 hours.
But let's wait, I got the information that there will be another mayor update this year and when it is such a big step forward, like the last one, that would be really nice. ๐๐๐ Maybe we try to fix something, what is just under development or out of order for maintenance ๐ค .
I am still forwarding every bit of informations about awkward bugs, behaviors and experiences to B&O - including screenshots and pictures I took from the Jukebox. if we want some improvements, we all should do this. I can see the progress and the efforts from B&O to get everything fixed.
Chris, good point about the network - I will check my router - unfortunately I have to use a device provided from Singtel. Maybe they will send me a newer replacement.
Hi Beoworlders.
After reading this thread, I came to the conclusion that software updates may improve the operation of the Moment, but sometimes degrade it.
I understood that the August update was far from a step forward, only cleared a few weeks later.
I came to the conclusion that the automatic update function may be a source of disapointment and think to turn it off.
In your opinion, what is the balance between the advantages and disavantages of both options?
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.Kind regards,
Yann.

Hi everyone,
another post for help.
Since the latest update I face issues with Deezer on the BS-Moment. When I choose a album or a playlist from Deezer, the Moment needs always 15 seconds between the tracks, before they start to play. it drives me crazy, because when I use the Deezer App on my iPad in the very same WLAN I have a perfect experience. When I want to skip to the next track, they start immediately without any "15-seconds-breaks".
I tried different solutions.
- Log-out/in from Deezer in the Moment-settings (content).
- removed the Moment from the Apps under my Deezer-Account-Settings.
- removed every device from the Deezer-settings
- my own content from the server & TuneIn is working perfectly,
now I am out of ideas.
Is someone out there with the same issues?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Hi Giraffe,
thank you for your reply. No, in this case - the Twonky-Server is serving perfectly to the Moment. Neither is it the case, when the Moment is not able to play and is moving on to the next track in the list. The Moment is playing the right next track - but between the recent and the next track, there is now a 15s - waiting-phase included.
Months ago, I complained, that NAS and Twonky haven't working properly - no complaints about Deezer and TuneIn. Today it's the opposite. The "waiting-phase" on the Essence is about 4-5 seconds (in the same network) Strange?!
Finally I am getting used to Deezer and the BS-Moment is "thinking", that I needed something "New" to become agitated again.
Are you still happy with your moment beroli
koning: Are you still happy with your moment beroli
๐ค๐ค๐๐ฌ๐
Hi at All,
I am sorry, that I have to push my question again.
Out of other options, I just performed another factory reset and had chosen deezer only. Sadly without any changes, regarding the said issue.
The "waiting-phase" between the Deezer-tracks remains 15 seconds, whether I want to be able to play an album completely or would like to skip to the next track in the playlist only.
When moving on to the next track on the Beomusic-App, I recognize, that the next track-title appears instantly including cover. But then it takes 15 seconds until the progress bar of the track appears and the track finally plays. It seems like an buffering issue. Therefore, I have checked my Router, Switches, Ethernetcables and even replaced all of them. No results. . When I connect a Laptop to the same ethernet-port from the BS-Moment and try to play several Deezer-tracks over google chrome, I can skip easily to the next track, almost without any delay. The same goes for the Deezer-App on the iPad. Flawless listening experience and skipping.
I never had this bad experiences with Deezer on the BS-Moment, before the latest update.
Even if it sounds ridiculous - I start to believe, that my BS-Moment could be broken?
Btw: the BS-Moment is connected to a GB-switch, according to the status display in the settings, the wireless reception of the Jukebox is perfect (all bars)
Any ideas? How is your experience?
Hi Beroli,
After reading your post, I have tried out and it seem that I have the same ~16sec lag between songs when using Deezer as well. I have the same setup as you, moment and essence but I am using Qnap with Townky and moment connected via LAN. Essence is on WLAN, playback is ok. I think its the moment software issue.
One thing I notice since I started using random play on Deezer playlist is that the first song played is always the first in playlist. Is it the same for you?
Also the playlist would go missing some time, but will just come back the next day after a restart.
YW

yes, I have that too and it is normal behavior.

Hi YW,
even if it sounds strange - it's a relief, that you recognize the same issue with Deezer. Yes - we have the same setup, but I think it has nothing to do with the essence. The 15/16s lag is there, even if I remove the essence from the setup and start just with the Moment/NL-ML-Converter/BeoVision. When I add the Essence again and listen with the Essence the lag between the tracks is just 3-5 seconds. That is ok- I think.
The-same-first-track-issue when chosing shuffle in the playlist is a known issue to B&O since months - but not important enough to fix it - yet.
On monday I will get a BS-Moment from my dealer, just to clarify the lag-issue. Hopefully, it will come with a previous software-version and I will see/hear if it is a last update-"feature".
Thank you for your fedback.
Since I recognized this lag more than 2 weeks ago, I would asume, that Deezer is not responsible for this - especially When Deezer is working fine with other Devices in the same network.
I will post, when I get more informations- but everyone, who knows a solution, please help ๐๐
Beroli:The "waiting-phase" between the Deezer-tracks remains 15 seconds, whether I want to be able to play an album completely or would like to skip to the next track in the playlist only.
Don't now if the Moment could be really blamed, many tracks from Deezer are giving me a message 'unable to play track' in the about menu. Deezer API problem?
dreammer:One thing I notice since I started using random play on Deezer playlist is that the first song played is always the first in playlist. Is it the same for you?
This is also the case with own playlists starting from the music server, thats why I keep asking for a 'random' button on the app and the Moment.
dreammer:Also the playlist would go missing some time, but will just come back the next day after a restart.
I am pretty sure, out of own experience, that your music server goes into hibernate or sleep mode. The Moment has problems in waking up, so keep the server running the whole time.
Hello,
That's it, my Moment is arrived.
It is connected to my ML setup through a Beolink Converter and, since there is already an audiomaster, the BLC is declared as a Source Center.
When chosing the TV speakers in the initial setup of the Moment, the only choice was BLC.
I also connected speaker to my BLC in order to have music in the office,.
In the app, the only devices shown are the Moment and the BLC/TV.
I cannot find the BLC as a separate room.
Where is my mistake?
Kind regards,

Don't now if the Moment could be really blamed, many tracks from Deezer are giving me a message 'unable to play track' in the about menu. Deezer API problem?
Hi Chris,
as I wrote several times before, it is not the same issue, like "unable to play track". This 15-seconds-lag- issue can be experienced in every album, every track or playlist from Deezer with the BS-Moment, while at the same time the Essence, Deezer-App on the iDevices and the webbrowser-version of Deezer in the same setup is playing everything üroperly - without a 15 seconds break between every track. This issue is really anoying, Please have a look on the previous posts - maybe I was not specific enough. The 15 s lag is not the exception it's the all-day experience for me now. There was a time, that most bugs were related to my own content - Deezer was always great to use. Now it's kaputt.
YannChris: Hello, That's it, my Moment is arrived. Kind regards, Yann.
Hi, welcome to your next tech-journey. Some people buy games, we fiddle for days/months with our setup ๐ค๐. Could you please post your nice setup-chart again?
- just some short questions:
Do you use the previous BLC or the recent NL/ML-Converter?
Have you red the latest version of the manual from the NL/ML-Converter? This manual covers almost every setup - from AV-Master to Source including a lot of hints and screenshots for the configuration.
I will check your reply tmr, its already 2 :21am in Singapore ๐ด๐ด
