mbolo01:Have you tried the 5s reset while the Jukebox is connected to the SoundHeart? This is the way I usually reset the beast.
EDIT: Interestingly, now that Deezer is back to usual business, the inner circle of the MoodWheel ALSO selects songs that are not in my NAS nor in my Deezer library, too much isn't it?
Does anyone had the same findings?

Strange... Have you tried to look at the streaming info?
Using RPC: http://{server}:9000/rpc/stream_info
My inner circle is working as supposed, see example:

Hi Chris,
how can I check this?
Chris: Using RPC: http://{server}:9000/rpc/stream_info
Nice tip! I'll be able to better understand the Moment logic while playing from the MoodWheel, particularly the inner ring.

Hi Mirco,
(Use a remote procedure call (RPC) to log in at the Twonky server.) Type your server IP address in the Safari, or Firefox or Chrome address bar... and see what your server is streaming.
Hi,

Tracking with Chris's tip (RPC command) + scanning my Deezer album, I confirm that from time to time, songs that are not part of my libraries are played, sometime a NAS equivalent exist but the song is played out of Deezer, sometime I don't have the song anywhere in my libraries, nor the artist in my Deezer favourites ....

Was the Moment at the dealers? Or was it connected in someone others network?
Nope, from the box to my living room, and always on my local area network .... I'm not talking about the numerous factory resets.

Very strange behaviour, and how reacts the Moment if you delete your Deezer account. What content gives the inner ring... None?
My Moment behaves as it should on the rings, so can't explore a fault like yours. This device keeps us really busy, on a sporadic base I'm having problems with a morning activation on the ML network, no reaction of the Moment. The ML comes up, but the Moment stays black. About two weeks ago I removed the Hub's fixed IP address and let it connect on DHCP with a Mac address reservation and its working well now, strange...
Furthermore, what's going on at B&O. We haven't receive any update for two and a half months now.
Chris: Very strange behaviour, and how reacts the Moment if you delete your Deezer account. What content gives the inner ring... None?
It's the first time since I have the Moment (Feb 2015) that the MoodWheel's inner ring meets my expectations, particularly when selecting tracks from my very large NAS collection without any repeats and with consistency in the choice. I'm discovering again my collection with a great pleasure.
I'll enjoy a little bit more these "moments" before attempting any configuration changes, but I'll be very vigilant on what songs are being played to capture a pattern for the strange behavior I have reported in this forum.
I questioned myself when I started to hear unknown songs played through the inner ring, my library is so large that I could have forgotten some songs, but by crossing iTunes searches (my NAS library is managed with iTunes), RPC calls and Deezer inspection when an unknown song is played, or when the cover of a known song being played is different than the one I know in iTunes or Deezer (I have a very good visual memory), I'm convinced that songs out of my libraries are played.
B&O never came back about Deezer being back to normal either, is it really fixed? Do they ignore answering to customers having reported the issue? who knows? I have at least 3 tickets opened with them on the subject, I'm sure some of us have also some registered and unanswered.
I've got an opportunity to buy one of these, but after reading this thread I'm having some doubts. I was so excited to finally get one after seeing all the marketing, even two years later.. but I'm not sure I'm down for all the frustration. Kinda bummed.
I'm curious as to how B&O demos these in stores with all the issues?

Don't be afraid to buy one, and don't let you mislaid by the comments in this thread. We are just a bunch of guys, who want to squeeze everything out of the Moment.
Most customers, as my old dealer told me, are satisfied with the machine. And that's no lie, using Deezer and Tunein in a normal way it's a very good machine.

I agree :-)
Thanks for the feedback. It's great to know there's such a good support system around.
Once I get it, should I immediately do a reset, then update to the latest software and proceed thru the sign on prompts? I don't have a deezer account, so should I skip that and just get it up and running?
Thanks a ton for all the great info.
Pulled the trigger on the moment. Comes in a few days. I'll be getting a Deezer account for sure.
Good luck!

Actually I'm purchasing it from a third party, so I'll be having to do the setup myself. Makes me glad this forum exists! Any strategies on initial setup would be appreciated.

Local music is coming from a hackintosh build with a raid attached running iTunes and plex. Plex is a dlna server so I'm going to see if the moment can see it, otherwise I'll install twonkey.

Any pattern or clue as to why and which Plex files are not seen by the Moment?
Surely because the Moment software has been tested only with, of developed for, Twonky
michaelwilson: Any pattern or clue as to why and which Plex files are not seen by the Moment?
Save yourself problems, many Moment owners, in fact we all have tried different servers and it looks that B&O developed the Moment with the specific DLNA standard Twonky uses. And it works best this way.
Another question is how a Twonky server version in co-operation with the Moment react to a hackintosch computer. That's something I really like to know, I'm very interested so please keep us informed.
Since I currently use Plex to server most all of my media now from a Mac Mini, I'll probably start by segregating out my music and keeping it in iTunes served with Twonky. My hackintosh should be complete in the next two days, which is about the time the Moment arrives. I'll report all my findings (and questions!) here. Wondering if Plex DLNA and Twonky DLNA running simultaneously on the same server will cause conflicts...
Got my Moment yesterday. To be clear, I got the moment mainly for DLNA streaming and Deezer.
Have several questions but before that here's some details on the hackintosh.
HARDWARE:
Core Intel i7 6700k (4ghz / 4 cores / 8 hyperthreads)
16GB DDR4 RAM
Samsung EVO 250GB SSD
(5) 5TB Segate NAS Hard drives
SOFTWARE:
Mac OS X 10.11.6
Plex Media Server (DLNA disabled)
Twonky Server 8.3 (DNLA on, serving only my iTunes Music Library)
SoftRaid 5.5 (RAID 5 on the 5 NAS Drives)
5vtsPWl
Some background, I only use this server for serving Plex Media to date. I have iTunes running on it and my music is actually stored in the iTunes directory structure not in Plex. Prior to getting the Moment I used Apple Remote app to control this iTunes instance and stream music to my Main system and a BeoPlay A9, (3) BeoPlay A6s, and a BeoLit 12 -- All via AirPlay.
I got the unit and it had already been reset so I begun the first use sequence. I connected via WiFi which is very strong in this area as I have a repeater nearby. Once thru, it was starting the process of loading my DLNA library (4380 tracks) which it pickup up from Twonky right away. I attempted to do a software update at it was currently on 1.5.5.1110 and got an error:
nOVIJTh
I went to general to see if the setting wasn't correct and it looks perfect:
vxTKgjK
Every attempt to update greets me with the same error.
After I got the check mark that it had injested all my media, I went to Artists only to see that of all my content it picked up and noticed that of the 245 artists, it picked up images for about 10. So my first question is how can I get the more artist images to show?
This morning I woke up to see if more images had magically be parsed only to find out that my Artist section that had all 245 artists now only had 4. I went to settings > my content and forced it to look for new tracks... Still the same result, 4 Artists. I'm not even sure what to do next... anyone have any ideas on how / what to try next?
Double post
Sell it if you can!!!!

Hi Michael,
Did you do a factory reset? If not I would recommend that.
Also, I would do the update first after the factory reset and then load the library

In the earlier software versions loading artists pictures was painfully slow and unreliable; this has improved since the second to last or last update.
I am currently on the latest software (1.7.5.1155 - 1.7.399.223963144)
Hope this helps.
Best,
Peter
I didn't do a factory reset as I assumed that was done since I was greeted with the initial setup process. i don't remember seeing instructions in the manual for factory reset. How do I do that? When the Moment is ingesting your library, is it okay to put the metal plate back on and flip the unit to the wood side?

last menu item "reset" (metal plate released) second entry is "factory reset"
yes, you can start using the moment / put back the metal plate while it is processing.
Hi michaelwilson,
welcome to the world of BS-Moment-Owners. It seems you face the same issues we all had since we started with this device. In the first place you need to read a lot. Therefore I would recomend the thread "One Month woth the Moment" started by hiort. A lot of owners and B&O users filled this thread with life, tons of advices, solutions, step-by-step-manuals and even links to a service-guide from B&O themself. Please have a look, even if it is a lot to read. here http://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/14241.aspx?PageIndex=1
This thread was suposed to be a thread about the software-releases and their flaws. Every time I see a new entry I do really hope to read some news about a new release. Sadly it seems that B&O is not moving on in fixing bugs our developing the device. The BS Moment is not self explaining, it is a device which will need lots of efforts from your side, before it will serve you perfectly. There are no shortcuts. It is nothing about playing forum-police, I just think that the said thread will serve you well. I really like to use my Moment on a daily basis - but sometimes (after firmware updates, deezer issues, NAS or twonky-issues - this device can be a pain in the a...

I cannot get any of my own music (around 3000- songs streamed from DLNA) on the inner mood wheel. In fact, it only seems to choose 6 songs as i move my finger around the wheel (Ty $ign, Rick Ross, Major Lazer,) none of which are artists i have ever listened to. None of them are now and never have been in my collection nor is the genre in my collection.
This makes the mood ring useless.

Hi johnbrks,
it seems that you don't have a stable connection to your DLNA-Server. What kind of DLNA-Server are you using. B&O and most of the Moment-owners here recomend to use a Twonky-based Server. Have you changed the IP of the server recently? Have you tried a Pin-Reset on both devices (Soundheart, Jukebox). How are the devices connected to your network (cable/wifi, Gigabit)? Does the DLNA-Server is showing up in the settings of the BS-Moment? Have you recently created a new database on the Twonky-Server? If you create a new database on your Server you need to do the same on the Moment afterwards. I could go on and on - but lets start with this first. Afterwards I do really recommend to read the same thread "One Month with the Moment"
i'll check the other thread.
my DLNA server is twonky and plays fine on the moment (via wifi). it is only after i turned on deezer that the mood ring became bizarre (prior to that it only showed a few songs on the ring when using only my DLNA).
i tried rebuilding the database on the moment, but deezer still polluted my inner ring.
I haven't changed any network settings on the server.
i turned deezer off so now there are just a few of my songs on the inner ring (none of which i ever listen to. sigh).
i didn't pin reset the soundHeart, i could try that i guess.

Hi Johnbrks,
My experience over the last year tells me, that the BS Moment works best, when connected over a ethernet cable - even using PowerLan-Adapters is a better choice. Why? Wifi is usually fragil and easy to disturb. If your Moment can not find your Server over a longer time, because the connection isn't stable enough, it will try to "correct" the issue by moving on to the next available track. If you ad or remove deezer it will always result in another processing of the changed content. The Jukebox is using Wifi to "talk" with the soundheart - but is restricted to the slower bg-standard. Forget 5GHz or the "new" ac-standard. Sometimes the Soundheart shows the content of the Server, but the Jukebox won't because of a Wifi-issue. If your neighbor is using his Wifi on the same channels you will recognize a bad dent in the stability of your connection. I am pretty sure your troubles are based on network issues.
