I purchased on eBay master control link cable a master control link 82 connector box with the following imputs transceiver speakers and a link 1 and link 2 imputs. What kind of connectors go to link1 and link 2, and does it go directly to the receiver with the 8 wire master control link cable

Sorry about the orientations.

Let me know if any of the orientations, cropping or focus is an issue for you.

There are a series of system layout drawings but I chose this one as it is the simplest and probably matches your planned usage:

Here are instructions for the system solution diagrammed. There are three other combinations in more sophistication (multiple rooms in daisy chain, or star fish layouts) with diagrams and instructions that I can snap and post on request.

These instructions are for the simple solution diagram.

If you want multiple rooms in daisy chain or star fish layouts please ask !

Sorry for the double post of the 4 pages of instructions - the first attempt generated an error message and appeared not to work. But then appeared after I did the second (re)post. Go figureSad

And now there is triple post Unsure

Thank you for taking the time to send this information.

My link is to only one other room so pretty simple I hope

Just need to read instructions.

Curious though what type of connector do  I use to hook up to my receiver ( 5000 ) ?

Let me double check

However from memory there was a cable that goes into the box for which you have the instructions, and the other end has two the B&O standard speaker plugs - left and right.

You will have to wait some 12 to 24 hours before I am back at my "museum" Smile

This is a list of part numbers for the different lengths of cable

Not really "optional" !

And I have been looking for my real life cable ... But it's not in the box of new transceiver (hence "optional") nor is it my old transceiver's box of odds and ends from when dismantled the MCL to put in ML - sorry Sad

Thank you

if you say it is the standard speaker connections then I'll check my extra parts box to see if I have some

When it says 3 pin speaker connectors I take it means it is the connection points of the wires and not the actual pins that go into the speaker imputs on the beomaster receiver which is 1 large flat and 1 small pin like

I think it may have to be 3 pin.

Let's check the wiring at the other end.

After all the transceiver has to send signals through the MCL to the BeoMaster.

I will check the speaker 2 ports on my 5000 to see if there is a plug hole for the third pin.

Hi again. I think this BeoMaster 5000 manual page identifying the two SP-eaker inputs, and the two photos show that SP 2 does have a third pin that I am sure is used as a data signal from the transceiver. (In typical B&O manual fashion the diagram is back to front from the actual equipment) ...

Also this wiring diagram shows that the White and Pink leads inside the MCL cable are used by the 3rd speaker pin.

This all makes sense now it would have taken much longer to figure this out on my own. Now I just need to find a pair of these 3 pin plugs. Thank you again for all the help.

No problem !

Best if you can source the appropriate length of cable from a dealer.

You might make it up yourself - however please make note of the shielding !

And maybe Lee (Beoworld) OR Steve (SoundsHeavenly) may be able source / supply you with the cable or equivalent.

Good luck !

Hi I have a 1981 Beocenter 7000 and was wondering if this applies to my system?  The only cables going to the Beocenter are 2 speaker cables connected to the speaker 2 output.?  How does the remote control work from the other room I'm a bit confused. I'm  looking for one of these MCL units. Thanks Phil

Hi PHIL - you may be in the pre-MCL era. May I suggest you check the www.beotech.org site and see what options are supported and then start a new thread? You may get a better response that way.
